This was the time to do it. Late enough in the season that people wouldnt also call for Russell Wilson's replacement but also officially after the most embarrassing type of loss a team can take.

So who will be the Broncos next HC? Sean Payton? Doubt it because the Broncos don't really have any draft picks to send the Saints... Definitely going to be an offensive minded HC imo but Dan Quinn was a finalist last year for the job so he'll be in the mix probably...

Coaches that know the game might not want to jump at a chance to coach a team stuck with a brokedick QB because of the contract. Can be dooming to a HC on a 2nd time around.

Some may think their scheme will fit RW's style of play plus there's only 32 HC spots so why not give it a 2nd chance. Get fired after a year or two and still get paid the remaining years and probably get picked up in the off-season.

You make a good argument for the next HC, get a HC position on the resume, get paid rather well , then move on as a retread in the NFL or go to some college job for big bucks.
