I don't think upset alert, but they should not look past this one. They escaped by the skin of their teeth just a few years ago from Toledo. And had several close calls last year. tOSU will be a top 15 team (too much talent to not be). Are they a Top 5 team? We'lll see soon enough.

That was a 6 win Ohio State tea who escaped Toledo.....with Joe Bauserman the worst QB i've ever seen take the field for Ohio State at QB...not to mention Toledo was a 9 win team that year.....Buffalo won 4 games last year and failed to reach 10 points 4 times, their offense is not good

I expect this game to be like last years opener against miami ohio....56-10 or so

That one is going to be a barnburner. If I had a gun to my head I would say Washington takes it. I like UGA over Clemson and LSU over TCU. Those two are just great games right there.

AP Poll is out, so it is time for me to make my week 1 predictions. I am going to keep the same goals, since I failed to get them last year.

My goal is to predict 80% of the teams to win and to get more close predictions than predicted wrong teams. Last season I went 333-128 (.7223) and had 112 close predictions. I have close predictions to be 8 points or closer to both teams' scores (most a team can score on a single drive).

I also set the deadline to change/add game scores to midnight CST before the game. If you want to participate, feel free to do so. I know one of the Nebraska posters had a pretty successful prediction thread last season.

Actually great picks and scores. I would have LSU over TCU 24-13. I just struggle to give TCU or Utah, for that matter, the credit some others do because of their non-AQ days until they prove it. It will take time to develop the depth and the mentality required to play AQ talent weekly.

Ole Miss-Vandy might be another change I'd make but tough call. Being a homer my Bama prediction is Bama 34 Virginia Tech 10

Georgia at Clemson is a tough one since both teams tend to underperform when expectations are high that will be an interesting game.

I don't see TCU beating LSU. Miles gets over conservative in big games and hides his talent well, but I think that LSU is Miles ahead in talent vs TCU. They'll be up at half time and then Miles will really poor it on running up the score as he likes to do.

Boise State at UW with the home field advantage the Huskies may do it, but I don't think they've turned the corner yet to be able to beat an OOC ranked team.

WSU at Auburn just made me laugh. I knew Auburn had fallen but the thought that WSU can travel down to Auburn and come away with a win is funny. I'm not saying you are wrong just saying its funny that Auburn has fallen that far. I'm thinking WSU will have a good season this year if they reach .500. Maybe Leach really has turned around that program.

You also have the directional Michigan schools playing a respectable game against Michigan and MSU. Have the directionals improved or did Michigan and MSU just drop off?

I think Michigan State is down from a few years ago. They did struggle last year but rebounded and I think Western Michigan is a decent team. I can see MSU being a victim of week 1 close call. Similar to Wisconsin's 1st game last season vs Northern Iowa.

My thinking is that Michigan will dominate the 1st half and then rest the starters for ND, which will allow CMU to score some.
