and this will be a challenge
1. Gonzaga- do they finally win it all?
2. Georgetown- They are on a roll playing like a title contender right now
3. Duke- getting Kelly back looks to be huge
4. Indiana- they've been slightly more consistent than the other teams, but not by much
5. Kansas- has been good ever since that awful skid
6. Louisville- they have secretly gotten better the past few weeks
7. Miami(fl)- this is where I'm struggling to find teams to put in positions, so many of these teams have either had a really bad loss the past few weeks, or lost to teams in this region.
8. Kansas State- they have been a surprise this year
9. New Mexico- so have they
10. Michigan- that loss to Penn State is just too fresh in my mind
11. Michigan State- they were on a roll a few weeks back, now they seem to be losing most of their big games
12. Oklahoma State- early on they looked like they could be a good team if they pulled it together, now they have
13. Ohio State- they have themselves a solid team
14. St. Louis- another team on a roll right now, seems I have a bias towards that, but this is when you want to be hot
15. Florida- they were high up when they were impressing against crappy foes, now they're dropping games to bubble teams, sure others have done the same, but wins over Marquette and Wisconsin early in the year are all they really have.
16. Marquette- they do have a good team, been especially strong in big east play, they lost a game earlier to Wisconsin- Green Bay, so many head-scratchers this year.
17. Oregon- slight boost because Artis is back
18. Syracuse- what's up with them all of a sudden? 3 consecutive losses now though neither to bad teams.
19. VCU- got an excellent win over Butler, I really can't wait to see what they do tournament time.
20. UCLA- they have been up and down all season
21. Arizona- what's going on with them?? They're on a losing streak as well, not a good time for that
22. Pitt- they're a perfect 22nd ranked team, for the most part not any bad losses, and losing to who they should lose to.
23. UNLV- they were fading for a while, but could very well have pulled it together, hopefully they lose to Boise State though!
24. Notre Dame- they're another one of these solid Big East teams
25. Butler- they're on a slide, but I have a tough time not ranking a team with so many good wins, including 2 over top 5 teams in this poll no other team ranked in this poll has that. Illinois has wins over those same two teams and a win over Butler, but they have some bad losses the past few months. Butler's losses are only to teams who at the worst are on the bubble.
others not really in any order, though UNC, and Illinois were the only two seriously considered for ranking:
Wisconsin:would have been solidly up there, but lost at home to Purdue
North Carolina: they're getting hot, very close to the rankings
Illinois:I kind of explained this in the Butler section.
Colorado State:hit a tough portion of the MWC schedule though
San Diego State:up and down but no bad losses
Louisiana Tech:just figured I'd throw some more teams in here, they don't really have any wins, but unlike other teams they keep beating everyone they should
Mid Tenn State: actually probably better than Louisiana Tech they actually have some solid wins, and once again aren't losing to teams they shouldn't
Oklahoma: they're good for the first time since they had Blake Griffin
Boise State
nly because I'm excited that we might actually finally make the tournament.
