1) Terrible play calling by Kyle! This team was up 21-14 with 7 minutes left in the third quarter...and, all you want to do is pass! I know Denver has one of the worst pass defenses in the league, but did you not see what was working? Do you not think it would be smart to run an offense that keeps Peyton off the field!

*Alfred Morris through mid 3rd quarter...12 rushes/85 yards...HELLLLO Kyle! Rest of the game 5 rushes, 8 yards.

**RG3 5 rushes/7 yards? WTF? The Redskins were obviously concerned about the read option in this game. Not sure why, but it was not in the game plan.

2) RG3, for some reason has not been a good passer this year. I'm not sure if it's his leg, his receivers not getting space or what...but, something is waaay off.

I still think this team gets to 9-7, but there better be a better TEAM effort all the way around for this to happen.

HTTR!

Just my thoughts on RG3:

1) His mechanics are horrible this season. He didn't have good mechanics coming out so they don't come natural to him. He has to work on his mechanics but he was unable to over the offseason. Also, I believe there is still some mental insecurities he has regarding his knee. While running, not a big deal because that is natural for him. While throwing and coming down on the front leg, he isn't finishing the throw and the ball is sailing high.

2) Now something that RG3 can control. I do not believe he is spending or spent enough time in the film room and in the play book. I have seen him make the wrong throw to many times all season. I don't see him making the proper pre-snap reads and this causes him to lock onto one target. There is a progression in plays; however, there are times when the defense dictates a change to that progression and you pick on the mismatch. You can assist that by looking off the safety and going to your pre-snap location.

I said this in another post, and I reaffirm it here. As much as I hate to state it, maybe McNabb was onto something. He was saying that RG3 needed some guidance as to what to focus on, when to speak, and what to say. In hindsight, he was right. He just isn't the right guy to do it as he as additional agendas as in relates to the Shanahans. RG3 does need some guidance and he isn't getting it. All he has heard is how great he is, how hard he works, etc. His goal since his injury was to be "all in for game 1". Well, we never really questioned what "all in" meant, but he was not ready. Maybe physically the knee was healed, but mentally and preparation with the team, he was not there. In fact, he still is not 100% back.

The good news is the guy is driven and we have seen what he can do. He just needs to guidance on how to direct that drive to make him a better NFL QB, not the best iron man in the League. I really believe he became completely focused on beating Peterson's timeframe for return as his top goal. I would like to see the likes of a Fletcher or Moss try and council the guy.

I will come down fairly hard on him because he had time for commercials and his marriage over the summer.

the guy doesnt need to be trapped in a film room every ounce of his free time . come on now getting married over film work is wrong ?

those commercials took a day at most per shot so what , he missed a week if that ? hardly grounds to question his study habits

and i dont buy the DMAC BS either

the guy went thru a monster rehab and sometimes you need a break so you can live

all work an no play doesnt work

the issue is us fans expected RG3 to be healthy and come back firing on all cylinders and lead us to the promised land . the season hasnt worked out that way so now RG3 didnt do enough , Rak isnt worth a franchise tag , merriweather is garbage blah blah blah

rehabbing from an injury is hard and it takes focus . not taking mini camp snaps and TC snaps hurts . these "mental reps " arent enough nor is sitting in a film room soley enough . you have to go on the practice field and put into practice what you have learned from film

RG3 had a bad game vs a good team . that happens and we have seen flaws in his development which should be expected because of the injury .
