My Roster WITH Turco

Right now we have 22 players signed and are about $1.4 over the cap. This works only if Gagne is traded. I don't want him traded, but someone has to go an he makes the most sense at this time. And yes it is Saturday morning and I am already bored. He goes:

Would def like to see him get some playing time this year. Got to see a lot of his college games. He was very good.

alright touche.. it can work with turco in there, if he takes 2.5.. which i dont think he will, but it isn't entirely unreasonable, and i dont think homer will only leave 200k in space (thats 0 flexibility).. but i gotta give you props, it is possible to fit it under the cap, i didnt think there was a chance

i wanna see testwuide too

also, i'm not sure powe takes 750, but my guess is only 1 of powe/carcillo are coming back, clearing the extra space you mentioned

Awaz, Does Marty have any other serious suitors? I think if not we can get a pretty good deal on him. I think he would want to play somewhere? I don't know how much he wants but hopefully Homer can work it out.

thats a fair point.. but at 2.5 i'm sure he has suitors.. just cause the stars have been invisible for quite a few years doesn't mean turco sucks.. he's had a good career, his career numbers are pretty solid.. at 2.5 he's a steal

and as i've said many times, i dont see the flyers getting another goalie before the season starts.. and they wont be closer to the cap than 1 mil under it

No, I completely agree with you. I was just wondering what if any other teams were showing interest? I would assume he would want to sign with a contender and that would give us an upper hand. But yeah at 2.5 he would be a steal. And your right, he didn't get worse, Dallas as a team did..

yep.. i would prefer turco (esp. at 2.5) to leighton.. but i dont think the cap room makes sense.. flyers have too much tied up in skaters to spend on a goalie.. which is ok by me if leighton plays like he did last year, but i'm nervous about that

I had heard the other day that Turco wanted $2.5 per for 3 years and the Flyers wanted to pay him $2 per for 2 years. The point is we have to make a move because we are $1.4 over the cap. If Gags gets traded and Carcillo and Powe sign we would have about $1.8 left in space (No Turco and Bouch as the back up at $975,000). If no Turco, I would like to see a veteran winger i.e. Guerin to play 3rd line with Jvr and Giroux. If it is Testwuide, we have a roster and some cap space going into the season.
