My Prediction of 10-6 Moves to 8-8

I think with some of the injuries to the oline and secondary and having Dunlap and Geathers start the season with injuries...I think we wont make 10-6 more like 8-8. Does this get Marvin fired???? I dont know....

I am tempering my excitement somewhat if they do better than 8-8 I will be happy.....

Marvin was extended. He won't be fired. In fact, he'll have all these injuries to fall back on as an excuse.

I am hoping for 8-8, as we have a brutal schedule, a bunch of young guys that benefited from a weak schedule who get to see what real NFL football is all about this year. Dalton and Green are not sneaking up on anyone this year, and with no viable real #2, that will be made tougher, I expect both to have what pundits call sophmore slumps, but in reality, they play decent for their first real test against good NFL teams over a full season.

Plus, the injury bug is starting to take its toll already, coupled with we have not been able to put together back to back winning seasons in I don't even know how long anymore...I think 8-8 will be something very good to build on with this schedule.

Next year though, look out, we may be situating ourselves for long term success with the drafts we have had, plus a necessity to spend up to 99% of the cap due to league rules...Mike Brown is goign to have to shell out the cash for FA's (his own and others) and with a bunch of young inexpensive players on the team, outside FA may be more of a necessity to get to cap easier without having to replace half the young core of the team, but rather a few key position players to get you to cap and improve the starters quality right away.
