Caps Revenge
Let's Go Caps!
First of all, Congratulations to Montreal and their fans. A well played series and a well earned victory.
Now for the Caps...Everyone says they were a "one trick pony" and they had question marks regarding their defense and goaltending. To that, I say BS...Mike Green didn't play well and that goes without saying. But, the Caps D as a whole was not bad in this series. Nor was their goaltending, Montreal executed a nice agressive game plan against the Caps and for that they should be commended. Nice job. That being said, it wasn't as if the Caps weren't giving a valiant effort. They kept the pressure Montreal and Halak and they kept it on continuously...
To me, this is not one of those instances where you can say the Caps choked away the games and their hearts weren't in it. Every once in a while you have to tip your hat to the opponent and give credit where credit is due. The Caps as a team played well...It just so happens in this case that Halak was the individual player who performed above and beyond all expectations. He and the Canadiens did what they needed to do and I wish them well from here on...
Washington wasn't bad. Halak and Montreal were better. Congrats again.
