Agreed. Those two, you don't even have to argue about it. Even hardcore yankee haters will grudgingly concur.
Bernie, again, was a pretty good player and one of my favorites even though he played across town. But when you have to debate whether or not a player should be in the Hall/have their jersey retired, then they probably shouldn't get in.
With Bernie you have a day at old timers day honoring him for being a life long Yankee and a clutch playof performer. A plaque in the Yankee Museum in the stadium as well, no problem there. You don't retire all these numbers, it makes it meaningless
