why cant saturdays during the regular season have 3 or 4 channels broadcast bball for like 8 hours and strategically staggered start times like this all the time....

They do. Usually more than 3 or 4 channels. CBS, ESPN, ESPN2, CBSports, FoxSports, B10, SEC, NBCSports etc. Of course you have to be ok watching Mizzou vs Ole Miss, Rutgers vs Illinois, DePaul vs St Johns, Green Bay vs Omaha, UCONN vs Tulsa etc lol

Ratings. Regular season basketball does not draw anywhere near regular season football.
