Sure....are you implying friends of mine dont live long? My fifth wife and I roll my eyes at that. Jones Falls is more into Maryland horse and dog racing (specifically Corgis) and has been spending most of his time mining crypto.

Sorry for the lack of a preview, I knew all about it and I most definitely did not learn the race was tomorrow at 11:54 this morning, but since I am not there on the ground its hard to give an accurate preview. Technically because of a bathroom ban violation I am not allowed back in Kentucky until 2032. Not my fault though, after 14 Busch Ice's I am going to head to the bathroom that's closest.....which may not always be the correct one. And I was wearing a fascinator hat because I thought men wore them to the Derby too, not because I was trying to fool anyone or try something new out.

I'll try to get back there next year, hopefully legally and not having to resort to a disguise. I wont try to Bosom Buddies my way in, as the penalties become progressively worse and I dont want to go to summer camp in El Salvador.

Since you mentioned Kentucky and bathrooms

That's pretty cool. In most places I'd feel compelled to press a "Do Not Push" button. However in a gas station bathroom, I think I'd resist the temptation.

In my family pool, I picked Sovereignty to win.

For Ukraine, for Denmark, and for Canada!

Funny. I didn't pick Sovereignty because it sounds too close to Sanctuary

@Comeds, need your preview.

I like East Avenue tomorrow. Currently sitting at 34/1, was 20/1 morning line.
My FanDuel401k is really hurting now. I had a couple bucks on Journalism too.

I'm just glad Sandman didn't win. That horse is an asshole. I know I should stop hating 3 year olds, that's what my AI therapist says, but I just don't like that horse. Did you see the pre race interview? The horse completely ignored the reporter.

I ended up betting sovereignty and East Avenue both. Got lucky on the 18. Had a piece of the trifecta too. On to the Preakness

I was talking to my friend Jones Falls today. Between mouthfuls of "dirty yak"* he told me how much he was going to miss the old Pimlico when they knock it down in a few weeks. He said he saw the designs for the new Pimlico and it sounds nice, especially the 2 story stables (he thinks the horses will like the quick lift elevator), but he is sure he will miss the old buildings. He also mentioned he was heading out of the country for a bit in case they find anything or anyone under the stables traceable to him. In between packing a go bag, and getting his various passports in order he gave me his thoughts on the horses running tomorrow.
In some cases he used their full names, not the shortened ones.

1. No Goal! Oriented, 6-1 owned by Huff-Hasek Stables LTD - if this horse gets ahead it might hold on to win, but coming from behind is not it's strength
2. Journalism, 8-5 Grandson of Uncle Mo. I saw Uncle Mo, I knew Uncle Mo, Journalism is no Uncle Mo. JF likes this one to show
3. American Promise, 15-1 This horse has a lot of promise.
4. Heart of Honor, 12-1 This is a dark horse. Literally.
5. Pay The Lady, Billy, 20-1 This horse was named after a scene in the beloved film Beverly Hills Cop 3 where the gang went to a brothel. No chance.
6. River Thames, 9-2 The only Rhodes Scholar in the field, he has dedicated this race to the memory of fellow Rhodes Scholar Kris Kristofferson. He has also promised that if ever given a chance he will kick Toby Keith. Favorite food - frosted oatmeal cookies.
7. Señor Sandman, 4-1 The only Hispanic hose in the race, will also be the most rested due to his strict siesta policy. ICE will be watching this one.
8. Crimson And Clever, 5-1 This horse, now I don't hardly know him, but I think I could love him. I mean betting on him. This is the horse (according to JF)
9. Ryan Gosger, 20-1 This horse is in the race just to tell the fillies it was there. No chance to win, no desire to win. A real horse jack ass.

So the word is Crimson and Clever, Journalism, and River Thames.

*A "local tradition" I never heard of until today. It does not sound as bad as the name. Well, I'd skip the ketchup.

I'm leaning towards River Thames over Journalism in the exacta. But I will box it.
