The preseason number 4 team in the MWC just beat the preseason number 1 and 3 teams in consecutive games.
Go Aztecs!

Joking aside the Pac-12 could and should be one of the 3 strongest conferences this season.
I'd say that's reasonable.
jonvi, better make sure Mikey doesn't see that. He'll lose his shit.
That's the spirit!Great assessment.
I guess we can also conclude that the Big East is better than the Big 12 since Nova beat Kansas, and The Big 12 is better than the ACC, since Kansas beat Duke.
Just like the MWC will never beat the Pac-12 in head-to-head through the course of a season right? hahahaNo MWC team is getting a #1 seed in the West. Ever.
Arizona would have beat SDSU by 25+ had the Aztecs not been in the bonus 3/4 of the second half.
As trolly mentioned. Then the same can be said for the Nova win. Big East is third in computer numbers right now.
I'm not one too usually bitch(especially since we played bad anyways) but the refs were absolutely atrocious in that MU/SDSU game. The crowd was obviously pro SDSU being right in Cali and the announcers who didn't hide the team they wanted(SDSU) even on 5 different occasions called out awful calls against MU.
For as ticky tack as that game was...Sampson or whatever the hell his name was sure got some superstar treatment. Guy should have fouled out 12 times.
Marquette has their own serious issues offensively that pinning a loss on officiating is wrong at this point.
Just don't throw MW parades because 1 team beat Creighton(also lost to GW) and Marquette(Gardner sick, Mayo hampered, Duane Wilson hurt)....in a virtual home game.
I was kidding with my original post. Just wanted to get some basketball discussion going.
As far as officiating...it was terrible on both sides of the ball. Are you talking about Skylar Spencer, the guy who fould out with his feet planted when he got bowled over? That guy who got his fourth foul after the refs gifted MU as possession after a phantom jump ball that ended up in SDSU's hands? Or was it Davis whose back never touched the end line but was called out of bounds?
The announcers sounded like an SDSU radio crew. I'd be pissed if I were an MU fan. However, most times we're on the other end of the stick here. So it was actually nice to have announcers who got the name of our school correct for a change.
Both teams looked ugly on offense because both teams play good defense. That's what happens.
Yeah both do play good D but our offense does just suck. Hard to disagree with a guy like Buzz but having all your best players come off the bench is mind boggling. Worst starters ever.
And yeah I agree calls were horrible both ways with the touch fouls it was just the random fifty fifty calls that were idiotic.
Tie game under 3 left. Shepard tosses up a shot clock prayer...Thomas MAYBE slightly brushed him...not a foul, and even if so...9 lives spencer bumped Thomas anyways. 2 pts. MU possession burton dribbles the ball blatantly off the SDSU guys foot(he fell over for gods sake). SDSU then scores. Basically game.
But those clowns were just clueless, when the game was pretty much over they let Burton shoot a free throw before Fisher even subbed a guy out. What morons.
Either way we came in as the "better" rebounding team and SDSU owned us for key putbacks in a game where pretty much every first shot was missed.
SDSU was definitely underrated though coming into this year. They were picked behind UNLV? Don't know about that one.
