I can respect that then. I know some pretty delusional local "producers" and it has ruined dubstep for me.

Well as far as I know, this is just a normal dude with zero ego that has just been throwing his stuff up on beatport and people have received it pretty well... One of his tracks has like 50,000,000+ hits on youtube with zero promotion outside of word of mouth.

All his stuff is not dubstep though... I know that dubstep is pretty much in its prime right now and that's how it kind of reached me. Just has a fresh quality to it I can't put my finger on. Will probably fade quickly.

I know one kid in FLorida whose Dubstep handle is "Lt. Jenkem" and he makes some of the WORST electronica songs I've ever heard. He also takes his art very seriously and likes to message me about it. He titles his songs things like "Pikachu's first bone" and "Warehouse Project"

Oh no.

I play some piano and a lot of guitar, and have been in my share of bands, so I have a huge appreciation for skill with a traditional musical instrument. Both my parents are musically inclined and so are all of my friends.

That being said I think I have a better perspective of the musical process and what it takes to make good music.

Someone who doesn't have that.. I don't know if I can always respect them when they say they like things like dubstep and other electronica.

That's why I'm picky when it comes electronically produced music. You can tell a producer who's had formal training with some sort of musical instrument (namely piano and guitar) from one who hasn't and it makes a big difference.
