Probably not, and I'd be surprised if Kirkman and/or Lowe are on the roster when everything shakes out.
The thing is we have the luxury of finding out.
Honestly, I'm more concerned with Holland than I am either of the two relievers.

Holland made one mistake pitch to Cabrera,

You've never liked Holland, so no surprise here

Minus the strikeouts, Holland's numbers had been equal to or better than Darvish's so far

It was a tough night to be a pitcher and he couldn't get Cabrera out, chalk it up to that

In the words of John Kruk: "He's just better than everybody. Lets just go with that."

Agreed, though the conditions weren't nearly as tough.

Both faced the same lineup Holland did. Miggy's HRs would have been out on Fri and Sat night too. But he didn't hit one off either Tepesch or Grimm.

Best starting pitching during the series came from Yu with Porcello, Tepesch and Grimm tied for second.

I am now really looking forward to seeing Lindblom tomorrow night. Perfect time for TEX with this lead to work through their entire SP arsenal and see what they got.

Only the first one could be said for sure to be a HR any day, the other 2 its hard to say if they were wind aided or not since they were line drives

Wind aided or not ... neither Tepesch or Grimm gave up one of either kind to Cabrera their nights on the mound.

2 of those 3 HRs were on pitches that were exactly where you would want them, on the black and in on the hands, I don't fault a pitcher in that scenario

Though the 3 run shot was just a bad pitch by Holland

Whether they were where you would want them or not ... they were hit out.

If we are going to give Holland the benefit of the doubt ... then have to give Kirkman the benefit of the doubt too since Fielder hit a ball that was low out of the strike zone for his three-run double. His pitch wasn't even in the black.

I think Holland going to be okay ... but Tepesch and Grimm are both pitching well enough in my opinion that the call for a Perez activation isn't justified by how we have seen them pitch. Lindblom comes up and is lights out ... think what that does for TEX dept chart.

Who said anything about activating Perez?

You really seem to pull some things out of the air sometimes

You haven't called for an early Perez call up. Lots of chatter on ESPN Dallas along with other commentators promoting it. Jamey has routinely labels Perez #5 and Tepesch #6 despite Tepesch and Grimm having more experience and better numbers than Perez.

I see, Grimm andf Tepesch have earned their spots til you determine Perez could do a better job and/or Lewis is deemed healthy, they've earned it so far

They are going to have bad games, but thats ok, if we can contend for best record in the majors and the AL West crown while the youngesters are also taking their lumps, then thats only GREAT for the future

They're also thinking calling Perez up changes the bullpen. It doesn't. Starters are starters and they don't affect the bullpen.

The decision on what to do with Burns does affect the bullpen. But having Kirkman who is really an SP in the middle of the mix has really complicated. Kirkman (like Feldman before him) starts elsewhere. Lowe could easily be the odd man out.

Lowe has been worse and is older, as bad as Kirkman has been, I'd rather have him of the 2

Holland threw 106 pitches in less than 5 innings so it was more than just one pitch. Not sure where you get the notion that I NEVER liked Holland. Here's what I have said in a nutshell. He's inconsistent. And just because you have some kind of man crush on him doesn't mean I can't say he's inconsistent. And just for the record hot shot, it's your know it all smart ass I have never liked, not Holland.

I have no crush on him, but he's pitched well this season, but yet every time he has a bad game, there you are expressing your concerns about Holland long term, we get it

And you not liking me is irrelevant but thanks for sharing, I really could care less

Agree. Something may play out today. TEX is making this far harder a decision than it needs to IMO.

Comes down to the fact that TEX has two long relief guys in the bullpen. Need to decide on Lowe vs Kirkman and move on. Kirkman has future value even though out of options while Lowe doesn't. So decision ought to be easy.

Carrying the extra long guy has hurt the right side of the bullpen and with Burns up and doing a good job in his two showings ... along with the move needed to be made today to make room for Lindblom just brings it all to a head.

Comes down to the question ... "which of Lowe or Kirkman are key to post season success?" Neither. TEX has a hole in the RH RP group that Burns fills at least for now. "How do we fix that?" Easy ... "Which of Lowe and Kirkman have more value?" Easy -- Kirkman. It isn't hard.

Agreed 100% Lowe needs to go and keep up Burns,

and for the time being Joe Ortiz needs to be used mostly as a LOOGY as he has a pretty strong LH/RH split at this point and time, I think he might eventually move away from LOOGY status but for now he hasn't

Think the missing RH arm is what caused TEX to use Ortiz against both LH and RH bats. TEX spun him in the Ross mode as being equally effective against both as a story to themselves justifying carrying both Lowe and Kirkman.

TEX could duck the issue by optioning Ortiz but I think we all know what the decision needs to be and not making it now just kicks the can down the road to make at a less desirable time.

Well he's faced more RHHs than LHHs at this point and been tuned up at about a .859 OPS in 49 ABs

versus LHHs a .262 OPS in 30 ABs
