And the funny thing about RISP is that most the time you don't even need a hit. Just a good out works and we can't even do that. Pathetic and not just a short term problem. I guess guys hit .200 for a reason.

Pretty much everyone that covers the team was surprised they didn't go after at least one decent bat at the deadline.

Was just looking at the team stats. Not a shock that they are in the bottom half of the league offensively, but wasn't aware they have given up the most HR's in the AL. 4th in earned runs and ERA and yet have given up the most long balls.

They are 10th in runs scored, 12th in team batting average, but also 6th in HR's.

So they live and die by the long ball and so far have a few more deaths than wins from them.

Given that their pitching has not been as sharp lately, I'm not sure how surprised we should be by this collapse against one of the worst teams in the AL.

I honestly think the Mariners would fare better attempting a safety squeeze bunt play every time they have a baserunner at 3rd or 2nd and 3rd w/ less than 2 outs.

What they are doing w/ RISP is simply NOT working.

so frustrating. Other clubs seem to have no problem plating runs with guys in scoring position.
