Some year, maybe 10-15 years down the road, this team will run into some good luck.

Not just then but probably a couple more starts. Seems like a couple of weeks before we see Kuma or Paxton and a lot longer for Walker.

Maybe I'm just a hopeless optimist but I like Brandon Maurer. He has better stuff than guys like Beavan and Erasmo. He's been doing well in the minors too

.........but then so was Franklin and Beavan lol

So we'll see

I have more hope for Maurer then Beavan. Maurer shouldnt have been in the big leagues last year but was rushed up. Erasmo doesnt have electric stuff and is more of a control pitcher but he hasnt had the control obviously the last few starts.

I think Ramirez has great stuff. He's just not performing well, so I understand why he's out of the starting rotation.

I do like Maurer, too. I hope he does okay. Evidently he's being limited to 60 pitches in this start, so they're being careful.

Too bad he doesn't use that stuff very often.

I misunderstood Shannon Drayer when she was talking about this last night.

Look like Maurer will be on Sunday if anything.

$50 to anybody who would've guessed we'd have Young, Elias, and Maurer starting consecutive games...well, ever, this season?

Feels like just a week ago we were all talking about how great it was going to be by maybe mid-April with Kuma, Paxton, and Walker all behind Felix.

Yea I don't think anyone could have predicted that. Our only hope is that we can tread water somewhat until those guys come back. However if the hitting stays woeful and inconsistent I suppose it wont matter eitherway.

I would've guessed that exact thing had I known you were going to give out $50.

Therefore I'll be expecting a check in the mail :suds:

Well about a week ago, I thought we could withstand the temporary loss of Paxton, but our luck with pitching injuries and inconsistencies has gotten significantly worse since then. Beavan comes in for a start and gets put on the DL immediately afterwards, Ramirez can't find the strike zone often enough to be even remotely effective when he does and Walker had a setback that will cost him at least two more weeks and probably more. Say what you want about the front office over the past decade (and it's all legit criticism), but it's times like these when you have to seriously consider whether this team is cursed.
