Trade news: The Chicago Cubs are acquiring right-handed reliever Tyson Miller from the Seattle Mariners for infielder Jake Slaughter, sources tell ESPN.Miller was recently DFA’d and will join the Cubs in the big leagues. He has been good: 3.09 ERA, 12-to-1 K-to-BB in 11.2 IP.

That was hard to watch. Julio going for it in front of Mitch and bobbles it badly to allow that second run.

That was a decent win. Kirby threw around 24 pitches in just that first inning alone, and came back strong to reach the 7th. Couple of guys had a solid day at the plate and they scored runs both with a rally and a couple of long balls. Still had 10k's against them on the day, but that's just how this team is going to roll this year.

This offense although not great or good from top to bottom its weirdly has this feeling of the pitcher not exactly knowing how to approach the lineup because it mix and matches every other day. Normally its pretty standard the middle of the order is what you pitcher needs to be careful of but this lineup the guy batting 6th can go 2-4 with an RBI or the guy batting 8th will be the guy that goes 1-5 but with a HR that takes the lead.
