Think this umpire knows he can call strikes against the Astros?

Servais should just run out there and start going Piniella on that ump.

oh yeah, this was worth bringing back Gagviglio.

Apparently, ten days wasn't enough. He just ended this game for us.

Well on the bright side if this keeps up it won't matter that Vincent and Diaz aren't available. So there's that.

Not going to win with this kid on the mound playing this badly against a team like Houston. Can't field first, and that's not the first time he's thrown away a runner not able to toss a ball to first base.

And the pen digs a deeper hole for us.

.500-phobia kicks in yet again.

I've never understood why people pay all that money to go to a game then practice whistling all game. Obviously they aren't paying attention to the game.

This is why you can't make the playoffs with fringe AAA pitchers. Verlander at his worst is still better than these youngsters right now.

Game was more competitive than I thought it would be tonight... Figured the Astro's would've put up a 10 plus spot on us...

We were due for a clunker and that's fine if that's all it is. If this is the typical Mariner win 5 in a row and follow it with 6 losses in a row or something then we are in even more trouble.

Agree 100%. Gaviglio can't be making more starts if this team is serious. I'm not crazy about Moore either but i can't expect 2 starters to be replaced. If they won't make a move I think even Gallardo is a better option at this point.

I don't know what I was more worried about, having to beat the Astros with Gaviglio on the mound or having to get over .500. One of them struck yesterday, but just not sure which one it was. Hopefully we can take the series today, get back to .500, and head into an important series with the newly loaded Yanks.

Nobody really expected we would sweep Houston, right? 2-3 would be as good as anyone should have expected so hopefully they can pull it off.

Yep, Paxton on the mound tonight so they have a good chance, hopefully he pitches well...

I said earlier I'd be happy with 1/3. However that was assuming we lost the first 2. Paxton vs Morton needs to be a win. Paxton is the only top of the rotation guy we have so we need to win almost all his starts
