By the way, is Kane wearing sweatpants in that photo? That's more offensive than flashing the cash.

What a tool.

There's difference between Turris saying there's nothing to do in northern Finland, complaining about poor food choices as a professional athlete and Kane flashing wads of cash in the internet faces of people he's partially responsible for putting out of work.

P.S. Turris gets a pass in my book (what he did was dumb but honest) not because he's a Senator but because he was literally at the bedside of my buddy's 5-year-old daughter yesterday. She's just had a relapse of an aggressive form of leukemia. He can say whatever he wants about Finland if he's willing to do stuff like that. He'd never met her before but she loves the Sens. :thumb:

Gotta like someone doing something like that, no matter who they play for.

For the record, I don't begrudge the money that NHL players earn, they are in the top 1% of their craft in the world and people (owners in this case) will pay a premium for their services. However, the NHLPA is not without blame regarding the current work stoppage and players should realize that there are many people directly and indirectly affected financially by this labour strife.

It's just very bad judgment (and optics) by Kane to tweet that image and message.

Stolen from another board:

There's only one reason to wear sweat pants in Vegas. Looks like someone was going to have fun at the Spearmint Rhino.

Nicely done by the Sens players (Kyle, Chris, and Chris)

There's one filthy Bruin in there (Kelly) but I'll ignore that for the time being.

Doesn't bother me at all. Everybody has to make their own bed. Kane is doing well. That's ok. Does he really have to be sympathetic to pissed off NHL fans that are probably not as well off as he is?

Am I the only one that didn't really care about the photo? News flash, professional athletes make more money than you do! Who cares?

Normally I wouldn't care either, but the downstream effects of no NHL games being played have negatively impacted many people financially. Not to mention that it's just another in a long line of PR hits that the NHLPA doesn't need.

meh, the NHL has a long and extensive history of dealing with shady characters and outright criminals. I think Herr Bettman has plenty on his plate to deal with currently.
