If you research most of trophy games we accept as tradition now they had similar ridiculous beginnings. These type trophies are better than contrived trophies like the Textile Bowl, the UConn bs, etc.

I never understood where the hell a ND fan ever got off talking about this to be honest.

You wouldn't even play in bowl games for years, so how the hell could you lose one after the fact, and then during the regular season you did shit like going for ties instead of the win - and playing nobody in the bowl season. You still claim each and every one of those.

And then at the same time, if you want to talk about winning conferences and divisions etc...once again where the hell does ND fit into such things?
