Thought this piece, in which the writer lists the "10 most important transfers" for the upcoming season kind of interesting: Adelson: Top 10 impact players from the 2015-16 transfer mayhem

First guy on the list is MI QB John O'Korn. He was very impressive as a pocket passer his freshman season at Houston, particularly early in the year, before UH faced some tougher defenses. He struggled as a sophomore, before losing his starting job. Not sure that he was a good fit for the Houston offense and I know that he did not get particularly good coaching, so ever since MI hired Harbaugh, I've wondered how he would do there. Finally, worth noting that the piece was written before MI signed the McCaffery kid the other day, so I don't know whether O'Korn will even play.

Also found interesting Houston RB Duke Catalon, a highly rated recruit for UT, is fourth on the list. Since UH just dismissed from the program the guy I thought who was most likely to get the bulk of the work in a UH backfield that lost to graduation its two best RBs, Catalon now has a big chance to be the back he never was at UT.

Here is the full list:

1. QB John O'Korn, Houston to Michigan
2. QB Trevor Knight, Oklahoma to Texas A&M
3. QB Dakota Prukop, Montana State to Oregon
4. RB Duke Catalon,Texas to Houston
5. DL Gerald Willis, Florida to Miami
6. WR Geno Lewis, Penn State to Oklahoma
7. QB Luke Del Rio, Oregon State to Florida
8. QB Kenny Hill, Texas A&M to TCU
9. QB Riley Ferguson, Tennessee/junior college/Memphis
10. DB Priest Willis, UCLA to Texas A&M

Duke Catalon is a beast. I hated to see him leave. He wasn't your typical washout from UT where he just couldn't compete or was a piece of shit off the field. He just decided he wanted a new home and would have gotten serious playing time I think if he had stayed.

That's encouraging. I know that he was a highly rated recruit, but I seem to recall some UT fans questioning his attitude/work ethic. He should certainly get an opportunity to play at UH, since we lost our three most productive RBs from last year.

Completely agree. He would have played this year. Some rumors of a bit of an attitude about practice, think Iverson, but he looked good with the ball in his hands. There was also some girlfriend talk, who is in the Houston area. There is no doubt he is a talented kid.

Mentioned that in my post. He was known for taking of his helmet during drills, when he wasnt in. Lot of little stuff like that. Not a bad kid, but also not something you tolerate when you are trying to rebuild a culture

Lewis is a shot in the arm for our Offense. We were lacking in WR experience. Hope he works out.

I don't think that Strong puts up with guys not buying in. Neither does Herman.

Its unlikely most of these kids do anything at their next stop. Transfers are generally kids that failed for one reason or another. We get excited based on their high school evaluations, but forget the last 1-2 years of data in college.

Replacing Shepherd isn't easy. He's always impressed when I've watched OU play.

We will see how it works out. Just saying it has not like he was a bad kid. The girlfriend issues may have played into it.

Well of course not but thats just it. Losing Shepard and what we have in reserves looked dim but Lewis brings some needed experience at the wide out.

Clicking on his name in the article linked in the OP shows that he caught 55 balls for about 750 yards last year. I would be encouraged by those numbers.

I know that Chance Allen, a transfer WR from Oregon, who never did much there, had a very nice season for UH last year.

Yup, that would have put him as our #2 last year.

Stanvon Taylor looks to be switching to WR as well. Always thought that was his better position in high school. Quick been taking some reps on the D as well.

Almost as impressive as watching Shepard play. That guy was pretty good too.

Impressive that the freshman TE Andrews caught 7 TDs. We will have to be aware of him, Westbrook and Lewis in the season opener!

Andrews has a chance to be real special. He is big and fast and no linebacker should be able to cover him.

Red zone target. 6'5 guy. Really a hybrid TE. High school teammates with Kyle Allen.

I was way caught off guard when he left. He was the talk of the offseason. He runs very hard and breaks lots of tackles for a guy his size. I do remember reading he had some practice issues. Our RB coach at the time was a NFL guy who had pro expectations of attitude toward practice. I guess they didn't really get along all that well. He also was recruited by a different set of coaches and probably just didn't want to play for the new regime. Charlie and that staff came in brining the discipline hammer trying to change the culture. I'm sure it seemed over the top at the time. I wish him well and expect you will be pleasantly surprised.

McCaffrey commited to the 2017 class. Brandon Peters is the big time QB recruit for the 2016 class for Michigan. From what I've read -- Peters is going to redshirt to put on weight and learn the offense. O'Korn is everyones favorite to be the starting QB in 2016. After that, the high school QB'S recruited by Harbaugh will have a shot to unseat him.
