Most Important Position in Sports.

Help settle an argument between two idiots, yes I’m one of them.
Anyhow, the argument is simple, what is the Most important position in sports. We’ve limited it to the 4 majors in the US.
NHL- I say goalie he says top line center who can play two way.
NFL- We both agreed on QB.
NBA- I said a ball moving Point Guard l, he says a string Center who can also shoot Free Throws.
MLB- I said catcher he said pitcher. I said Catcher because they actually run the Pitt her and the game in the field.

Over all we agreed that of all the sports it would be QB in the NFL.

I agree with you in every sport. The reason being is control of the game:
Catcher is there for the whole game. He calls the pitches
Point guard brings the ball up court and sets the play
QB controls every offensive play and touches the ball every offense play.
Goalie is on the ice for the whole game. He doesn’t control the game as much as a catcher but he can slow it down or speed it up a little freezing the puck. You have an off night as a goalie the game is out of control early. You have an off game as a center and you play less minutes.
As far as overall I am going to suggest point guard. Plays almost the whole game both offense and defense.

I would pick by if you can win when they have a horrid night

NHL - if your goalie sucks you loose

MLB - i do agree the catcher runs the game, but if your pitcher sucks...you loose.

NFL - while you can win if your QB sucks you need above avg all around on both sides of the ball to compensate

NBA - cant think of anything important other than cheer leaders

Out of baseball, football, and basketball, the starting QB is the most important single player, but the pitcher is the most important position, IMO.
