Morel and Wild Asparagus hunting season

Morels are just poppin' here in east central Nebraska but just the small ones and they are few.
This rain today and this weekend will have them going nuts next week.

Wild asparagus is also just beginning.

I found the first morel on the 15th (pic below). I found an ice cream bucket full last Sunday, (18th) and another ice cream bucket full today. It's been good hunting around here and with 1.90" of rain last night it should stay good for a while, here on the Republican River.

Nothing Better than some morels and walleyes in the spring. I'll be headed to the river up here in SD this weekend a little fishing for the walleyes in the afternoon and hunting for morels in the mornings.

You've got to sneak up on them or they will duck back underground before you see them.

It's that time of the year for morels.

Wild asparagus is also popping.

I wouldn't even know where to begin looking for these things. Then I'd probably pick a poisonous one and get this shits for a week.

Just about 'shroom time again! It's raining right now and supposed to hit 80 this weekend in the Inland NW. That should get the morels popping!
