Ok, so Steve Garvey was one. The last two include a hall of famer who did a stint on the Padres and a very good player who had a son in the majors

The Padre on the list had his name retired by another team. And it's a kind of common number that has been retired on different teams in different sports
Just glad that is is arguably more known now for an embarrassing number retirement than anything else he did in his career…

Last guy is not in the Hall of Fame but he led the league in an offensive category for a 5 or 6 year run. His son was in the majors for 6 years but he is more well known than the son.

the record he broke was previously held my Ty Cobb, although there was an asterisk next to it because, like Roger Maris, he had the benefit of a 162 game season.
