Or he said you were all riled up or something like that.
I will. Because I don't like it when posters like FumbleRooskie put all of us Buckeyes fans in one group like he did in his earlier post when he said Buckeye fans make excuses when the Bucks lose. I think Brasky was one that put us all in one group as well when he mentioned Herbie moving out of Ohio because of the "Smoke's of the world."
I don't think that the University should get punished that hard if at all. Even though I think that what the players did isn't that bad, did they break a rule? Yes. Should they get punished for it? Yes. But ALL coaches need to be held to a high standard, and punishments should be harsh for coaches that break rules.
As far as Meyer. I don't know if that's an upgrade. He was doing some shady stuff at Florida before he left.
This is interesting because that's where lack of institutional control comes in. It's not the university that is being punished, it's the football program.
Covering up violations is done to maintain or gain an edge competitively. So cheating.
The program should suffer a consequence or two IMO. Take away post season play for 2 years and take away some scholarships.
I'm starting to get a really bad feeling about all this mess. I didn't think Tressel would lose his job when this shit first broke a couple weeks back. But now that they just keep uncovering more and more secrets/lies, I'm really starting to think it's possible he gets shit-canned. Either that or the NCAA will come down hard on the program. Deservingly so.
It's just a fact that the NCAA doesn't tolerate lies. And in this case I think the cover up is worse than the crime. One of my main concerns is that the NCAA will vacate their wins from last season. I don't know if they really will, but you never know.
