I agree with mattola, I hope this can finally be resolved, but methinks it won't be...

I have hated Bertuzzi ever since that incident. I think he is a coward for taking a guy from behind (regardless of what that guy did in a previous game) and I think that he should have been suspended longer.

All that said, I think that this lawsuit is a joke. You know the risks of playing hockey when you step out on the ice. This whole thing really just needs to be put to rest.

I agree the suit is dumb... However I also believe that Bertuzzi should have to give him some kind of money. It did end his career. Should have never gone to court though. Bertuzzi could have got retribution without hitting him from behind, and people didnt have to pile on top of the two which is prolly what caused the broken vertebrae.

I agree that payment has to be made but the $20M they are seeking is god damn stupid. especially for his parents. Did it really end his career though? I mean this guy was fucking scrub at best. I dont see how he would have lasted in the NHL anyway. just looking for the big payday here

20m, is ridiculous. He is the equivalent of some ghetto turd falling down in a supermarket and trying to sue them. The parents getting involved is stupid as well. What did Moore even make that rookie year?

heard some commentators ask the question ... if they end up going to trial in Sept 2012 without settling beforehand, whats the over/under on witnesses taking the stand and saying ...

"i cannot recall all of the events of that night"

edit: We know for sure Steve Moore will use that line once at the very least

if he spent as much time and effort rehabbing as he did lawyering, he would have been back (in the AHL) the next season.
fuck him, fuck his parents, fuck Tim Danson, and fuck Pierre LaCroix

and fuck Bertuzzi too, just for being a dumb shit, and a colossal waste of talent for about 850 of his 1,000 games

I don't think that what happened to Moore is a reasonable risk to expect when you play hockey. I can't say I blame him at all for wanting to be compensated for what happened to him.

Yes, it did, and no, he wasn't.

He was a rookie who was getting 15 minutes a night on a team with 10 straight division titles. He was improving. He even scored that night and won a fight despite being under significant pressure from both the media and the Canucks - the mark of a player with potential.

If I had asked you about Daniel Sedin when he was in his sophomore season, you probably would've called his 9 goals in 79 games a sign of a "fucking scrub" as well, but there's this thing called maturation.

Would Steve Moore have won an Art Ross in his career too? I don't know; some "fucking scrub" hockey team conspired to injure him, hence the appropriate lawsuit.

If you know the secret for rehabbing post-concussion syndrome, maybe you should let Crosby and Savard in on the secret too. And Lindros. And Kariya. And McAmmond. And Lafontaine. And boxers. And everyone else, even if they didn't have a broken neck that required wearing a fucking brace for a year.

Bertuzzi never should have hit Moore from behind. I'm surprised it's taking so long to take care of the lawsuit. However, atheletes are given special treatment.

Maybe a Bruins fan can help me here, but I remember a Don Cherry story about a game in which a Bruins player got into a fight during a game & both players went into the box for 5 minutes. When they came out the Bruins player sticked the other guy in the eye. The Bruins player was sued of course & had to pay the guy something in the neighborhood of 8 or 900k & the league had to give the other guy a lot of money as well.

Cherry said the Bruins player was never the same after the incident.
