Now if they can get Jackie Bradley out of his (long) slump it would be great.
That .188 isn't looking to good.

Huh. Funny. The Yankee fans on that "other" site are convinced Didi is MVP after 30 games. But the Yankee fans here aren't sold on Mookie. You guys should pow wow to get your stories straight.

Google Wade Boggs 50 beers....Some of the craziest shit I've ever read....I have a friend that goes to the WWE events every year, Boggs is a huge WWE fan and is always in attendance.....My friend gets hooked up and goes to the VIP section and they watched Boggs down like 20 Amstels in a short period of time while he sat across the bar.....

How many players are on pace for 162 home runs on Opening Day?

it's funny because Mookie's already had a much better career.

Didi: 14.1 WAR
Mookie: 22.7 WAR

And that's with Didi having 131 more games and being almost 3 years older.

Even if he regresses towards his projections (which are generally around a 135 wRC+ and 5+ WAR for the remainder of the season), he'd have an MVP-caliber season.

Betts is a hell of a player. Betts is probably the 2nd best outfielder in the AL. Probably the 2nd best overall player in the AL. I think he can sustain this level to a degree. I don't see him hitting 50+ homers, but 40+ is certainly within question. It's gonna come down to him and Trout for mvp, I'd guess.

Yeah, he's not going to finish the season hitting .365/.451/.823. That would be among the greatest seasons ever and up there with Barry's best seasons. Mookie is sporting a HR/FB rate that's more than double his career average and I expect that and the home runs to come down a bit, but he is also hitting more fly balls this year (went from 42.8% in 2017 to 52.4% in 2018 so far). While those power numbers will undoubtedly come down, I don't think his BA will come down too much. He has a .329 BABIP which is higher than in his previous seasons, but it's not too much higher (it was .327 in 2014, .310 in 2015 and .322 in 2016; his .268 BABIP in 2017 drags his career average down). His projections might be a bit conservative, at least in regards to batting average.

His projections for the remainder of the season:
ZiPS: .303/.372/.525, .310 BABIP, 134 wRC+
Steamer: .301/.375/.534, .302 BABIP, 136 wRC+
Depth Charts: .302/.373/.530, .306 BABIP, 135 wRC+

Again, I'm not going to complain if Betts regresses towards those. That's still All-Star/MVP candidate level production, especially with his defense and baserunning.

I'm just not a fan of the "on pace" 30 games in.....

You should have seen the endless parade of Chris Sale On Pace To Strike Out A Billion People, and Give up 3 ERs All Year, and Be Better Than Pedro Martinez threads we got from Rock last year.

Well, at least until Sale shit the pitching rubber and looked more like Pedro Astacio.
