Each player is different. Some players thrive off the ra ra in your face type of coaching. Others wilt away with it. It's the managers job to figure out what best way to motivate. So that doesn't really bother me.

I get what your saying but it is not a managers job to be a jackass in public, that is something for closed doors. You can't go looking for a reporter to trash on someone yet get pissed when a reporter asks you why are you playing Almonte, Miller, Ackley, Ramirez, Maurer etc.

I'm sure Walker did something to be in the dog house but Lloyd was straight up bush league with his tantrum ripping on him when he read a boxscore.

I do give him credit because it appears he has taken his recent demotion seriously. The attitude and work ethic seems to be his biggest issues so hopefully hes turned a corner. The splits I guess are just keeping me from going all in. However if given the choice between him and Hart its no contest I'd much rather see Jesus. Hart looks like he's 55 years old out there.

Yeah, I don't care about anything in the past as long as he can contribute to the team. They kept him from playing for quite awhile at the beginning of the season at AAA until he dropped some fat, and he's done well since then. He did fine for the 5 games he was up with the M's, too.

I can't imagine that lmc would be against bringing up somebody who could potentially help the team with its greatest weakness, so I just ignore all of that. If we have a skipper who's that unprofessional, then we're truly doomed.

9m[/ame] After going 0-for-3 in the opener, Jesus Montero is 2-2 with a HR and 3 RBI game two of DH.

Can't expect Montero to come up and have similar numbers to what he's doing at AAA, and maybe it's hard to put him at 1B at the MLB level right now even platooning, but there's got to be a way to get him up for a chance if he keeps this up for another week or two.

Hart is this years "Failed Veteran squeeze whatever you can out him project." Last year it was Jason Bay. In previous years it was Jack Cust, Milton Bradley, Mike Sweeney, etc. There's one every year and it fails every year.

Obviously Montero has his baggage, but for as much slack as Smoak and Ackley have gotten, I wouldn't mind seeing Montero get at least one more legit shot to stick.

Slowest guy I ever played with wasn't even fat, just built really thick. Slow as molasses.

Just looked at Montero's new batting stance, and he isn't fat anymore, IMO.

So Jack and Lloyd think they can get more out of Hart for the last 60 games than they would out of Montero? Yeah, this isn't personal at all, is it?

I'm beginning to think that Montero won't get a September call up either. If they dislike him this much, they should just move him now. His year in AAA has restored some of his trade value.
