According to a guy that called into the Junkies that was a witness to the whole altercation says that Monte was minding his business and the other guy tried to rob him and bit off more than he could chew.

Said Monte was minding his own business and was walking to his car.

Not much of defense. Montae initiated the fight. He or his girl were not in immediate danger. He searched for the guy to kick his ass. He will probably get off or some reduced charge and a fine if witnesses come forward to corroborate this story. His girlfriend, however, may not. She used a weapon. That's a bit more serious.

Well Skins are saying he will not play on Sat. If the Eagles game means nothing I would assume he would also be out for that one. The guy has pretty much been a non factor for a few months so does it really matter? I guess primarily due to the injuries, but it appears that there is a lot of debate here & elsewhere centered around very marginal players.

Good lord. I have been in a bunch of fights like that. Shit happens. Because he has money it will probably cost him some but bar fights happen.

Not too mention, there was a witness in the back of this bar that said "dude" tried to grab Montae's necklace from his neck. The dude that gets knocked out, was a bystander trying to break up the fight. Meanwhile, Montae has no clue he is on video and looks like the aggressor. Apparently had way too much to drink. And why the heck is an NFL player out in the streets at this hour? Whole thing dumb on his part.

Would have been hard to tell me not to be out drinking at 2:00 am when I was 25. I don't get the "because he is a football player he shouldn't be out thing." Can't say now but back in the 80s at least half of the Caps team was hanging out after games right off of Central Avenue. That's what young guys do.

He shouldn’t be out at 2am drinking in order to protect himself from this exact situation. Yes...there are people out there looking to get paid. They are wrong. That being said, if we all know it, and we know this happens, then why put yourself in this situation?

Because he is in his early 20s and very few of us at that age didn't believe that we could handle any situation that came our way. I did the exact same things when I was that age as I would bet most of us posting here did. Let's face it. That is just about the worst age. You believe you know it all and are invincible. When the reality is you don't know shit at that age. Well, he just completed lesson #1. The question is will he learn from it?
