Dumars needs to go too IMO... he's had some good picks and trades along the way but in the end he hasn't been able to right the ship... not to mention very shitty choices for head coaches in Curry, Kuester, Frank, now Cheeks...I never understood letting Saunders go...

Cheeks was a Dumars hire. Gores brought in Phil Jackson as a consultant and Dumars ignored his recommendation. This move should be seen as a notice to Dumars that he is on thin ice and better turn this thing around quickly.

Yeah. I wasn't all that happy when Cheeks was hired. Knowing he'd be fired very quickly allowed me to not get worked up much. Im with you on Joes job security. Not a good sign for him to be pulling his signature move out already. (Did Joe think signing Josh Smith was going to elevate the franchise? Hopefully he doesn't get to blow money on shitty FA's again. Stuckey is almost gone, things can be better soon.)

He (or hammond) used to sign some pretty good free agents. Then he decided to trade chauncey and its been all downhill since.

Ive been anti stuckey since almost day 1. True point guards win games, they had one in chaunc then replaced him with a guy that cant play any position and clashes with management way too much.

We actually traded him, Walter Sharpe and cash for a 2nd round pick. We used that pick on Vernon Macklin. I am sure everyone here remembers that amazing night in April 2011 when he single handedly (with help from his teammates) scored 8 points, 2 assists and pretty much beat the Hawks by himself. Although we lost.

Given the option of a decent pro vs a guy capable of an 8 point night I feel like Dumars made the right call.

And that nut was john hammond, as soon as hammond left the pistons made bad move after bad move. Hammond was the guy that brought us 2004, not dumars. Just my opinion. Just like i think xanders gave us last years great draft not mayhew.
