we managed to beat NE last year right?

I think honestly it might be time for NE to restructure, trade Brady for a slew of draft picks and restock. Look at Indy and the way they are coming back with Andrew Luck, they are a force to be reckoned with going into the near future.

but, oh well, not my circus.

Brady is a legend, but having to learn a new system, being 37 years old, showing signs of that age, no one is going to trade anything of real value for him. Maybe a conditional pick as high as a 2 with maybe a mid and late round pick in future years.

this year's team is different. Hue won't let Marvin or Dalton muck it up. That's what I chose to believe anyway

The Texans ought to make a play for him when Belicheck ruthlessly cuts him this summer (only slightly kidding)..... They can upgrade from Fitzy and immediately be a contender in the AFC.

Brady behind that offense with those weapons would very well be a legit contender, at least for a couple years.

Did Peyton Manning have to learn an entirely new system?

not really

so neither will Brady

someone would have to meet him in the middle.

Brady is not the issue.

The RB still stink, their WR's are terrible, Gronk is only marginally a threat anymore, and their OL is probably one of the worst in the entire NFL.

All terminology would be different. Brady would be making a fortune still, so I am sure they rather the QB who is getting paid top dollar, work their ass off to learn the system, rather than make the entire offense learn a new system just because of the QB.

regardless.

the NFL is a business.

there are teams that would trade for him.

New England should do that and rebuild.

what you said in no way invalidates that.

Okay, I didn't say someone wouldn't trade for him. My argument was that almost nobody would trade the "rebuilding" picks necessary for a 37 year old QB on the decline. Granted, he has nothing around him, but with his current stats, are you as a GM going to bank on trading a 1st and other picks for Brady for a couple years? Then you have to hope he returns to his former self and learns the offense quickly.

I never said someone wouldn't trade for him, I simply argued he would not get much back in return as you think to rebuild.

The Texans head coach is Bill O'Brien..... Before coaching for Penn State and then Houston, he was Brady's offensive coordinator in New England. That is why I suggested Houston..... Ties to the coach. It's never going to happen anyway -- But fun conversation.

Besides, I tend to agree with Cincy78..... Brady isn't really the problem. He's not quite as good as he was 6-7 years ago, but he can still sling it. He happens to play with a terrible offensive football team. Imagine any other quarterback leading that team. They would look like Curtis Painter and the 2011 Indy Colts.

NE's 2-2 and tied for first in their division. It's way too early to write their obituary. Every time they've been counted out during the Brady/Belichick era they come back as one of the top teams in the league by the end of the year. It's clockwork. Maybe this really is the beginning of the end but I'll have to see it to believe it.

I feel like KC deserves some credit too. After they were embarrassed in week 1 they've come back strong. A blowout win in Miami, 2 yards from taking Denver to OT in Denver, and now they beatup the Pats

I agree. As bad as New England looked last night, they are in a very favorable place given their division. And I think we'll get their best punch next week..... Let's hope we're ready.

Except with Peyton. Then they might go 14-2.
