The Chiefs just blew out the Patriots, 41-14 on MNF.

Are the Chiefs that good, or are the Patriots that bad?

Chiefs played really well at home. Pats played poorly on the road. I'm not ready to conclude much more than that.

I think the Chiefs are becoming a pretty good football team. They certainly have a lot of talent at a lot of positions.

Conversely, I think the Patriots are becoming more and more beatable each year. The AFC East still sucks, so they will probably make the playoffs again, almost by default, but I don't think they are a top-tier team anymore.

It will be interesting to see how both teams respond to strong opponents next week. The Chiefs go to the Niners' stadium, and the Pats host the Bengals.

I honestly believe this is the year that we start to see the decline of Tom Brady.

I've been waiting a long time for this.

It is hard to think the Patriots are playing this bad but I do think they are a team on the downhill right now. I mean they barely beat the Raiders at home. That should be a sign in itself of how badly they are playing. I don't think the Chiefs are that much better than them but I don't think the Patriots are scaring anyone this year. They have some major troubles brewing and it starts in the trenches...

The OL so far has been one of the worst in the NFL. I don't think I have ever seen Brady get hit this much in his life. Getting rid of Mankins was a horrible decision as a great deal of pressure seems to be coming up the middle and although he was on the backside of his career he was the anchor in the middle that made life easy on everybody around him. It is why I think Solder is struggling this year as well.

On the DL side of things Chandler Jones seems to be the only one doing anything positive. Vince Wilfork looks like a shell of his former self and if it is possible looks like he has gained a ton of bad weight during his time away from football because of injury.

Still having said all that still can't count them out. They haven't fully unleashed Gronk yet and they should get a bit of a boost to the secondary with Browner ending his suspension.

Problem I see with Pats is you got a rb ( Ridley) who`s scared to death of fumbling thus isn`t running and hitting holes with confidence, then you have really only one wideout in Edleman that gets all the attention from Brady and no real threats on the outside to garnish any double teams or even a shut down corner. Seems simple to beat this team. Shadow Edleman, watch for Vareen on swing passes and stack the box and harrass Brady who has always shown he doesn`t play well when he`s under pressure from the rush. This is def a team going down hill and I wouldn`t be surprised if the Belicek/Brady/Pats era is about to run out of gas.IMO of course.

The Patriots are bad. The Chiefs are pretty good. Plus the Chiefs are extremely tough to beat in primetime at home. That Sunday night game is looking more and more difficult for us.

Conversely, our week 2 win over the Chiefs is looking a lot better now.

I'd say the truth is somewhere in the middle. Chiefs aren't as bad as their Titans game. They're good, but still laking a bit of depth. And the Patriots aren't nearly as bad as this game suggests. However, NE is on the downslope, and I wouldn't be surprised if they limp in as a WC (if they even make the playoffs). That O-Line is BAD, and Brady doesn't appear to really be in it this season. I think mentally he's still a bit peaved that Belichick let Welker go and traded Mankins. He's probably wondering how long before Belichick decides to cut Brady and let Garoppalo take over.

:) Good one ( and maybe...) I`ll wager the winner of that div is worse than 8-8. Miami makes nfl history by winning div with 6-10 record!!!! :)

Haha not sure the East is quite that bad. I mean they are all guaranteed at least 1 win with the Raiders coming to town. Plus somebody has to win the division games. My guess is somehow New England figures out how to get to 10-6 this year. One bad game is not going to make me think they are falling to the bottom of the NFL already. I still think they are a playoff team just now my mind might be changed of whether they are Super Bowl caliber like most thought before the season. People seem to focus on the big names on a team but forget sometimes the unknown guys are what make the difference. For the Broncos they actually have an OL that can protect Manning and a DL that can get to the quarterback on a regular basis.

I don't think there's any chance they make it as a wild card. That division is bad, 9-7 probably wins it. I believe the Patriots are still the favorites to win that division. I see the wild cards coming down to Kansas City, San Diego, and Baltimore. One of those teams will barely miss out.

This really could be a crazy year for those Wild Card spots in the AFC. Last year it was like no team actually wanted to make the Wild Card in that 6th spot in the AFC. This year though seems like a bit of a resurgence for the AFC in my opinion. I guess it depends how you look at it in the Patriots seem on the down hill but the AFC North seems on the rise and the AFC West is showing they can play with just about any team in the league. If it were not for Oakland being the joke that they are I would have no problem saying the AFC West is looking like the best division in football.
