From WLK:

Why I win...

I have one of the best leadoffs in the game with a great 2 hole .313 career hitter... Then I have Babe hitting 3rd... After that I've got 3 straight batters who average 30hr per 162 games... Then you have Posada (275hr) and Doerr (223hr) followed by Joe Carter (396hr) and 231 stolen bases... He's a huge piece in that he can hit a bomb or if not he's going to move around the bases and not slow up Lofton... Not a ton of speed on my roster I admit, however I do have some off the bench with Chili (350hr & 142 stolen bases) and Bert Campaneris who's 14th alltime in stolen bases (649) to go with Lofton (622) and Carter (231)... There is a ton of power on this team great hitting in the lineup and the bench and as always defensively I'm good at all spots... Pitching wise I think Unit can earn a split with Johnson after that I think I have a slight edge... I'm putting Wakefield vs Mussina to hopefully replicate games 1 and 4 in the 2003 ALCS where he out dueled Mussina, I also have one of the best knuckleball catchers alltime Rick Ferrell... My Pen is also better IMO... I have me in 6...

I would like to counter...

I have power all throughout my lineup even my speedy guys have good power. He has a great leadoff guy but I probably have the best duo up the middle in this draft defensively and possibly offensively with speed and power. My outfield has great arms and is great defensively with Minoso (3 gold gloves, .298 career average, 186 homers with good speed), Bernie (4 gold gloves, .297 career average, 287 homers), and Winfield (7 gold gloves, .283 career aveage, 465 homers, he also had underrated speed). Then you have more power with Canseco 462 homers and Berra .285 average and 385 homers. Then you get to the bottom of the lineup and you have Olerud (3 gold gloves, .295 average and 255 homers) and Machado one of the best players in the league and great defensively with already 2 gold gloves at the age of 23 and he has pretty good power at the 9 spot. My lineup is probably the best defensively in this draft and power hitting is ridiculous. His lineup is lacking compared to mine IMO. Don't forget George Kell who has a lifetime average of .335 vs lefties. Ridiculous.

My pitching is pretty damn good 1-4 with Johnson (the greatest pitcher ever), Walsh (the best ERA ever) then Mussina and Pettite some of the best Yankee pitchers ever. My starters are way above his but I will say he might have an advantage with his bullpen. I do have one of the greatest closers ever and some good setup guys with Thigpen and Gordon. My starters are ridiculous which helps me even more in this matchup.

You knobgobblers fell for his little rant smh. Wakefield over Mussina? lets be real. Wakefield had a career 4.41 ERA and barely over .500. His postseason was actually pretty awful 5-7 with a 6.75 ERA. He had one lucky series vs the Yankees. Pettite, was a great postseason pitcher especially in the ALCS.

I'll get revenge next draft and it sucks it has come to this :heh:

Looking to have different pitching styles was the reasoning... From what I've read even if the knuckle ball doesn't mess you up in that game specifically, it throws you off your timing...

Look again at Pettite being a great playoff pitcher... He has the most wins but that is only because he has pitched the most games... There was nothing special with Pettite in the playoffs

Of course Mussina is better than wakefield... didn't know that was even a debate...

Well when you win 63% of your starts and start 44 games, I consider that to be a pretty solid, clutch pitcher at my 4th spot in the rotation. I don't think his rotation is as deep. I think our lineups are similar but obviously everyone sees Babe Ruth and immediately thinks that team has the advantage, which could be true.

I picked against you because I don't like your offense... Your rotation is the clear winner, I do agree with that... Bullpens are close, but I probably lean your team...

I would actually call both teams weakness their lineups... but I don't think I fear your lineup at all... while I really do like the top and heart of WLKs offense...

I don't argue Mussina isn't better, however I think my lineup gives me more runs in a 10-8 type game... You call it luck but Wakefield beat him twice in the series... If you're looking at my lineup there is power up and down the lineup Ruth being the greatest... While this is the first time I've selected this type of offense I feel the power in my lineup is enough to compliment my pitching...
