With Conforto. Lee and Slater on the DL I guess we will get to see how some of these young guys can play

They used to give Posey his break playing first. Not sure what the problem is.
Me neither. He was the best option from what they had available today. Shouldn't take too much effort to walk up to the plate and hit four times

It's officially triage time now. All they can do now is try to stay near .500 until guys come back from the IL.

Today:

Harry - underwhelming. I guess grinding out 5 without command should count for something, but that first inning was a complete shitshow.
Hjelle, Walker -- meh. And Walker had been so good prior.
Doval, Jax -- excellent
Yaz -- our only starting OF still healthy is now hitting .209. Yeeeesh.
Wade continues to play like an all-star, on base 3x today
Good to see Flowers get a couple of knocks.
Ramos looks like he's here to stay
Sabol is raking
Wise look like he's ready for the bigs, tough 0-3

Let's not get swept by the Doyers and see where we stand on Friday.

New Ace/ Winning Time/ Spider... we should be able to avoid the sweep.

Another chance for a 3-game winning streak tomorrow against the Dodgers

If he does go on the IL (likely, I would guess, seeing as he was already nursing a foot injury), we are bare in the minors. My guess is either Villar or Reetz. Though I wouldn’t be super shocked to see Lucy get the call.
Sounds like Lee could be out for a while.
Luciano, Reetz and Villar are the only position players left on the 40 who are healthy. Meckler is on the IL with Sacramento.

Why is everyone freaking out about all these “hitters” going on the IL? Conforto is the only one who was really hitting. And this group wasn’t even able to tread .500. If their replacements can stay near .500 then there is no rush to get the guys back.

I’m actually looking forward to the younger replacements. Seems they can’t do any worse, and if they do better hopefully it will put pressure on our regulars to perform to what they are being paid for.

“Out for the season” is on the table for Lee.

His numbers weren’t great, but he was fun to watch. And he was getting BABIP’d to death. And he is only 25, so he should get better.

Now he could be done for the year.

I was trying not to go worst case scenario on him, but yes, that is on the table. He was hitting about what I expected from him his first season. Hopefully, he can make the improvements necessary to hit more like Kim his 2nd year.

As for replacements, the Giants may go outside of the org to add to the roster if he is gone this long. Which would be odd, considering the chances of landing someone better than what the org has is low. Won't be surprised if Myles Straw is a Giant within the week.

Not just a while...his season could be in jeopardy.

This is absolutely awful news.
