I love me Nolan Ryan but for some reason he doesn't get the love from some other drafters. He is ranked in top 5 of all pitchers in most articles I see about Greatest pitchers of all time but in our mock drafts he is a top 10 pitcher not top 5 which I feel he is.

I might have picked him instead of Spahn last round but didn't because of this

i was looking at him during this draft and even said he is much better than i thought he was... wouldn't say he is top 5, his WHIP was just not good enough to be a top 5 ever... only had 3 seasons of a WHIP under 1.1...

i was looking at him during this draft and even said he is much better than i thought he was... wouldn't say he is top 5, his WHIP was just not good enough to be a top 5 ever... only had 3 seasons of a WHIP under 1.1...

Randy Johnson only had 6, when you walk a shit ton of guys it's tough to keep that WHIP down, Nolan Ryan had almost 900 more strikeouts than anyone who ever pitched, he also has the lowest hits/9 in the history of the game. Tell me you'd wanna stand in there against him being wild and throwing it 100 MPH.

That said I don't think he's top 5 maybe not top 10 but he is top 15 for sure.

i read your previous comment wrong... i thought you said you had him ranked 3rd all time, that was what i commented on... him being YOUR number 3, is of course a huge advantage for you, he is clearly one of the greatest pitchers of all time... he might be in my top 10...

#1 SP if I drafted him, #5-7 of all-time IMO, #19 of all-time since Nos picked him.

I agree. I saw him and almost pulled the trigger but having Joe DiMaggio at CF I just couldn't do it.
