Like if I was having a conversation, I wouldn’t say “I did text so and so”, I would say, “I texted so and so the other day”...”I did text her the other day”...sounds strange to me

You can use both, did just sounds strange imo

To be fair If you were having a conversation. And said I texted the devil. Or I texted Nosferatu etc....It most likely will not sound normal regardless of text or texted
