Damn, this is the only sports forum I like or participate in. I suggested a monthly donations fund till we get a more permanent revenue source. That didn't seem like an option SportsHoopla is willing to try.

I would do a monthly donation compared to the alternative which would be the site closing.

I used to frequent a few private torrent sites that use this funding method & have been surviving for 5+ years. I have been a member of a MMA forum for 7 years that uses donations/lifetime membership perks to keep going. With as much traffic as SportsHoopla gets, I would think that if only 5% of us donated $5 or less a month, that would be more than enough to keep the ship afloat till a permanent solution arrives.

I agree. I was glad ESPN's forum closed and I found SportsHoopla which is 10x better and now I finally found the dysfunctional family I always wanted and now it appears they might be leaving as well. I hope they reconsider taking donations.

I think this would work, I would be willing to help anyway I can. I would have no problem giving $$$ until a solution can be found no matter how long. I too don't go to any other sports chat site but this one and do not wanna see it die. I'm not sure we can convince Hammer it would work however.

The only downside I have read from anyone is that people that donate would expect something in return. For me, what I would expect in return would be that our SportsHoopla home continuing to exit. You could always give the people who donate a flashy forum title or badge under their name.

I tried trading King Felix for Tanaka but was turned down.

It's a keeper league where each year you lose a draft pick where the player was drafted. Tanaka was drafted in 8th round and Felix in 3rd. So I could only have Felix for 2 more seasons while I could have Tanaka for 7 more. I did draft Abreu in 8th so I'll have a stud hitter for 7 seasons until they drug test him.
