He said it was a no win situation for him, imo I think if he beat Pera that would be a win for him and charity? The only conclusion one can draw is that he thinks he would lose.

Saying it's a no win situation is far different than saying no way he could beat him. If he beat Pera it would be a win for charity not Jordan. People would be saying of course you beat him, your MJ. If he lost, and judging by the practice video I saw Pera has some game, Jordan wouldn't hear the end of it. That is what is meant by a no win situation, not that he thinks he would actually lose the game.
