three, one was carrying a BB Gun. One was an arrest for Battery which was dropped (basically got into a fight) and the third was mistreatment of animals ( he had dogs tied up) In florida it was made illegal to have a dog tied for more than 4 hours during the day. So basically some one called and reported him for it... As a dog person, this one actually bothers me the most. But I dont see a pattern of stupidity here, more of a kid having a dumb year and needing to grow up.. which outwardly it looks like he has.

I also dont see a behavior that leads me to think it could escalate to something bigger, which i kind of do see with the Mixon thing.

Didn't he destroy property with the BB gun?

The battery one seems really iffy but he put himself in a bad position. As an athlete, you are a target. Have to be smart.

Animal control officer Sheree Mifflin “observed three puppies (one aged eight months and two that were just two months old) … tethered directly around the neck by a heavy chain. The dogs were unable to move and the smaller puppies were choking. I had to remove them for their safety."

The BB GUn thing was him and a group of friend in a car, yes property was involved... but seems more like a we caught them all and charged them all.. Cook was just the NAME in the car. So it gained water.

The Battery thing was dropped, but yes he did put him self into a bad situation and should be aware of it.

Again the animal thing to me is the worst, but seems more a case of I didnt know. From the report it looks like he wasnt even home when it happened, because I also know that Animal control cant simply remove an animal for its own safety if some one is home unless it is deem the animal is in eminent danger.

Again Im not excusing any of it, but it all happened 2.5 years ago at this point and he has had no issues since, and none of this looks like a case where he will be out shooting up the neighborhood or starting dog fighting rings.

Oh, I agree these are not too bad. The BB gun thing bothers me the most. At any age, you should know it isn't ok to destroy other people's property.

I agree. But as we have no idea if it was him or some one else firing the BB Gun, thats sort of like saying its a bad idea to smoke weed in a car. Every one gets arrested no matter who is actually holding the joint.

And again nothing here should prevent him from being a first round pick.

And the only reason I see him as not being a game changing RB, is if he goes to a team with zero offensive talent aside from him.

I think had Zeke gone to say the Jags... he turns out more like Ricky Williams minus the weed charges. Where teams stack the box and dare the QBQ to beat them. Dallas had the luxury of a very good line, and enough talent in the passing game that 8 in the box every down wasnt going to work against them.

I would take Mixon in the 2nd or 3rd, not 1st. There will be someone of equal or better talent at a position if need at #17.

Given, so many teams have backed off and it obviously could be bad for business for who ever takes him, it wouldn't shock me if he dropped to the 3rd or even 4th.

But the fact that he will be on Goodell's "watchlist" shouldn't scare us off. Every player is one KO punch to a hot chicks jaw away from never sniffing a stinky locker room again. That includes Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Christian the "Golden Boy" McCaffrey and all of the other squeaky clean guys in the league. These guys just have to be ALOT smarter than this.

My one sticking point here, and I see alot of this in general..... Do you think RB is not a position of need for this team?? Just curious. Now mind you I would not take Mixon at 17, but I would take a RB if the right one is sitting there.

To make the playoffs, and advance deeper in them? -- then the RB position must be upgraded.
Kelley, Jones, & Thompson are average as a group with CT being above average at what he does but limited due to injury risk.
I think folks are on board for Mixon in the 2nd. Is he le'veon bell or something? still hard to believe he would go in the first without the assault charge.

Actually Bell is a very good comparison. He has a complete Skill set, is a little bigger than Cook, and a little faster with no pads on. But with video evidence, Im shocked he is still projected in the 2nd actually.

SOLD, 2nd round. He WILL still be there when we pick because of the defensive back, and defensive line depth.
Not to mention, some teams won't even consider him til the 3rd to give the appearance that character trumps talent.(for some teams it does) I was just looking for some sort of comparison, the highlights can be deceiving.
I know a lot of teams REGRET not taking Bell because of his 40 time and weight, he had everything else.

I will say this.... Cook is a big play waiting to happen any time he is on the field. If we got to 17 and Fournette, Cook and McCaffery are gone, or we dont take one of them, I could live with him in the 2nd. But membership in the slapahoe tribe always makes me nervous. The information behind his joining the tribe doubly so.

I think the 'skins would get ripped for the pick, until he started winning on the field.
The biggest problem IMO would be getting the respect of his team after they find out why .....oh nevermind what other options are there man...lol

I think mixon is possibly the best talent wise
You could be right but I believe Christian McCaffrey is the best RB in the draft.

Absolutely. It is definitely a need. A big one. Like you, I've been on record as having a bit of a man crush on Cook. He is my #1 RB in this draft. He and Fournette are studs. Mixon and McCaffrey are very good too, although I wouldn't care for CM that high as a "situational" player.

I guess what I was really saying is that I haven't seen a single talking head or a single mock (not saying there isn't one out there) putting Mixon in the 1st, much less Top 20. Not saying they are right or that it won't happen. Just saying that someone will fall to us that is much more worthy of that spot. Cook, Foster, Reddick, Lamp...a stud pass rusher...someone. This team has ALOT of needs. Now, if all of those guys at the Top of our board are gone and Mixon is there and we think he is worth the #17 plus all of the negative pub that will initially go with him, then I guess I will have to be OK with it.

I say wait until our pick in the 2nd. If he is still there (assuming we don't go RB in Rd1) then you think about it.

Dude... Im on record as saying as talented as he is, I dont touch Mixon at 17, If Fournette, Cook and McCaffery are gone, then yes take the best ILB on the board, because it will mean one of the two, either Foster or Reddick have fallen into our lap. More over if the 49 comes and Mixon and Foreman are on the board and we go RB, IM leaning towards Foreman. He isnt a passing threat at all, but dude is a bull in a china shop and will fuck shit up in the short yardage and goal to go situations.

I would be OK with Mixon in the second, but would perfer Foreman there at this point.

Now if we get to the third, and we went Defense in rounds one and two, and Mixon was some how still on the board, I would try to hack the phone system and make the call myself to draft him. Because he does have the talent of a first rounder, but the background of a fourth rounder.

I think Foreman will be a beast running the ball I also think he could do well receiving they just didn't throw it to him much and not because he can't catch their offense was just bad

My thing with him is, IM not quite sure Gruden would use him to our best advantage. And if I thought he would be there in the 3rd and we would actually draft him, that would change my entire thinking on the 1st and 2nd round picks.

Dude.. if we miss on Mixon, Im fine with it. Like I said, he will be on the Commissioners watch list. And his off field "Issue" really rubs me the wrong way. Think about that for a moment, he decked a woman because she wouldnt sleep with him basically. You really think some one with that kind of background should be our first round pick?? Talent be damned, I can see why some teams have taken him off their draft boards entirely.

Link to the story stating Mixon hit ol' girl cuz she wouldn't sleep with him. Cuz while he should've simply walked away. I've read that the shit kicked off due to Mixon calling her gay friend a homosexual slur. I also read that ol' girl spit on Mixon and I know , from the video, she pushed him and then looked like she slapped him. Then that's when Mixon hit her.

This clip paints a very different story about what happened that night and goes into ol' girl's background a little bit.

Woman punched by Joe Mixon says she rejected his advances | Daily Mail Online

There you go bro. Now granted she could have been full of shit and just trying to get paid once she realized who he was. But in todays society, with shit like this, if accused by a woman you ARE assumed guilty until proven innocent. And on the off chance that she was telling the truth, Im not in the MIXon at 17.
