Mixon at 17.. I dont think so

I had seen the Video. In and of itself its bad, I mean beyond Ray bad. But I did a little digging to put some context to it. Dude cold cocked a chick because she turned him down. Word is, some teams have actually removed him from their draft board all together. Now maybe it was an isolated incident, But we cant hand this kid a $7 million dollar check and simply hope he doesnt get turned down after a couple of drinks.

2nd round maybe, 3rd round if he is there and we havent taken a RB by that point.... sure.

But at 17... not unless we are going to assign him a baby monitor.

Some team will take him in the 2nd round. I'm afraid that my Eagles may grab him. Part of me is hoping we take a RB in 1st just so the temptation isn't there in the 2nd. I really don't want a RB in 1st round. I like building up the defense since we signed 2 FA WRs and we can get a RB later. Just my opinion.

If you are going to take him in the 2nd just take him in the first so you know you will get him. He is going to be a millionaire as a 2nd round pick too so what is your point? Of course you are taking a chance but so did Tampa on Sapp and Minn on Moss.

Because there are one or two backs who will be just as good, possible better... and we arent taking a chance that they end up suspended or worse. Like I said, if he is there in the 2nd.. maybe. IN the 3rd sure take him... at 17.... not so much.

What if Cook, Fournette, and McCaffery are gone before 17? If you want the guy you take him at 17. why take a chance on passing him?

Because its a panic move at that point. If anything, you try and trade back and take him. 17 for a kid who is going to come into the league high on the watch list is just a little too early.

His I would put down as youthful stupidity for the most part. But to be honest, if a guy is willing to deck a girl because she refused his advances... how much farther would he go in the wrong situation.

How is it panic when the talent is there? You cant trade back and take him b/c Mixon at that point will be in high demand b/c the three I mentioned are off the board.

I haven't fully read into the battery charge. But you admitted that you would take him in the 2nd. 1st round picks bust all the time. SO yea draft on talent. If he screws up again you can always find another RB.

I mean he might be there. I dint know what teams draft boards look like or where he'll go. But who cares. If he's not there we take somebody else. We don't have to draft a RB in the first 2 rounds.

I said I might take him in the second. But again looking deeper into the incident, I would be ok if we didnt take him at all. And this is different from a guy who might just bust. 20 years ago this wouldnt be an issue (although it should have been even then). But in todays culture, Im just not down with risking it on a guy we have to baby sit. If he hooks up with some chicken head and she claims he forced himself on her after the fact... he will get no benefit of the doubt, and the team takes the black eye for it. Sorry dude, not in the first round.. not for me in any case.

three, one was carrying a BB Gun. One was an arrest for Battery which was dropped (basically got into a fight) and the third was mistreatment of animals ( he had dogs tied up) In florida it was made illegal to have a dog tied for more than 4 hours during the day. So basically some one called and reported him for it... As a dog person, this one actually bothers me the most. But I dont see a pattern of stupidity here, more of a kid having a dumb year and needing to grow up.. which outwardly it looks like he has.

I also dont see a behavior that leads me to think it could escalate to something bigger, which i kind of do see with the Mixon thing.

you dont take the 4th best rb at 17 when you can get the best OG ,OT, ILB ETC ETC
