NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Lions RBs coach Curtis Modkins is a candidate for the 49ers' offensive-coordinator vacancy.
Modkins is also the Lions' running-game coordinator, but he might not want to make that known after the Lions finished dead last in rushing offense this season at just over 83 yards per game. Modkins has been coaching in the NFL for the past eight years and has coordinator experience from his days under Chan Gailey in Buffalo. Coach Chip Kelly is going to call plays in San Francisco.
