Named the new pitching coach for Lakeland.

The Detroit Tigers announced today that former Tigers pitcher Mike Maroth will be the pitching coach for Single-A Lakeland during the 2012 season.
The position is the first as a professional coach for Maroth.
Maroth went 50-62 with a 4.81 ERA in six seasons with the Tigers. He also pitched in 14 games for the St. Louis Cardinals during the 2007 season. He went 50-67 with a 5.05 ERA for his major-league career.
Maroth lost 21 games for the Tigers during the 2003 season, in which the Tigers finished 43-119. Maroth led the Tigers in victories that season with nine.
He pitched 12 seasons as a pro in five organizations: Red Sox (1998-99), Tigers (1999-2007), Cardinals (2007), Royals (2008) and Twins (2010).
