Easy, just extend the regular season then
That'd be okay too if that extension didn't give us more of those crappy OOC matchups. Me thinks the schools would fill that extension up with more games against opponents about like my Miners! We don't need any more of those shit shows. We already have enough.

Exactly what iw as thinking, i mean extending the regular season is just more of the "non playoff" playin lol it would be nice to see those SEC schools schedule say 4-5 from another conference. Ban FCS, Ban lower level competition from being late in the season. Standardize all conferences to playing the same number of P5 teams. im thinking 16 games would be a good start :D

It could be better and have more of it why not?
Exactly . Landlines work fine to make phone calls too. Guess there's no point for these cell phones . Who needs the forward pass when the wing T was so dope ?

Loving CFB doesn't mean you can't want it to be better and more exciting for more fans

The argument of the regular season needing to "matter" is a bullshit tired excuse adding 8 or even 16 teams will not diminish it any more than the current format. Window licking bumkins afraid change might dethrone their current run are the only who really oppose it. The rest are just ignorant.

Adding more teams means Alabama would have even more appearances/championships.

People made the same exact claims before going into the playoffs. And yet all the playoffs did was give Alabama a national championship it otherwise wouldn't have gotten last year.

So the only tiered excuse around here is claiming that peoples motives for the current method is people worried they might be dethroned.

The TV rights for CBB tourney bring in 350 million more per year than the football NY6 .Expanding from 7 games to 31 extrapolates to an increased revrnue stream of 1 7 billion dollar PER YEAR. That's 13 million per FBS team if anyone can do math .

Last year ( based on final conference records including auto bids prior to league title games and at larges based on Massey )

1. Clemson 9-1 vs 32 Toledo 8-2
16 Miami 9-1 vs 17 USC 8-2
8 Auburn 8-2 vs 25 Boise 8-2
9 UCF 10-0 vs 24. Wazzu 7-3
4 Alabama 9-1 vs 29 Troy 8-2
13 Michigan St 8-2 vs 20 So Carolina 7-3
5 Wisconsin 10-0 vs 28 Fresno State 8-2
12 TCU 8-2 vs 21 Virginia Tech 7-3
2 UGA 9-1 vs 31 App St 8-2
7 Penn St vs 26 Memphis 9-1
3 Oklahoma 9-1 vs 30 SDSU 8-2
6 Ohio St 9-1 vs 27 FAU 8-2
10 ND 9-1 vs 23 USF 8-2
11 Ok St 8-2 vs 22 Stanford 7-3
14 NW 8-2 vs 19 LSU 7-3
15 NC St 8-2 vs 18 Washington 8-2

As stated this factors in all true conference records and likelihood of an ooc win or loss based on actual results

So as you see there are zero 4 or 5 loss teams although the last at large was almost a 4 loss Miss St

TL;DR

Oh, I can do math, but can you do rational thought?

You think the revenue for early blow out games is exactly equal to the current format? :L Flawed logic is flawed. The reality is travel to those early games would be much lower and interest would be a fair amount down as well. That's a plain old fact. The NY6+1 is marquee games over a few days and appeal to a very broad audience. Only the fans of those teams and the truly hard core would watch most of those extra games. It wouldn't create anything in the same zip code as you suggest.

You do get that your idea is so far fetched that it's entirely impossible to ever even partially come true right? You are free to bang that drum all you like, but you do have to know it physically can't work.

I mean while you are at it, just do an 8 game season and put every damned team into a tournament. It isn't any more far fetched right? And more rounds HAS to mean Trillions of dollars!!! :burt:

Idk, maybe there's much more games in the CBB tourney than NY6 :noidea:

So we should change college football to be ignored until the last month like CBB?

Ok so it's only 1.2 billion more then ?? You're right . Barely worth it. Let's keep seeing more bowls with 6-6 teams clashing to win the Hemmorhoid Bowl . That's good stuff

College basketball fans don't ignore cbb . Just like CFB fans won't ignore CFB .

No, you are right and everyone else is just dumb. An 8 game regular season with 128 team tournament to follow would solve world hunger.

Don't be hyperbolic. I already showed you how it would work . Every other level does it and it works well. I like 32 because it's more fun but 16 would he just as easy. Resisting change based on pretend concerns is only for people too set in their ways . CFB is awesome but it could be way better

So going from 4 to 32 is an improvement, but taking one step farther is just hyperbole? Seems rather arbitrary doesn't it?

No, you did not show how it would work. You gave an ill informed view of your idea and make wild blanket assumptions and spew it as some kind of fact and just insult anyone that actually thinks it through as being stuck in their ways.

You will not answer the question, so I'll ask it again. Do you legitimately believe there is ANY chance at all that even most of your idea will ever come true? If not why?
