Can somebody fill me in on the situation this season? I noticed Michigan is ranked 17th in the coaches, and we are 18th, closer to Boise St than we are to Michigan in total points. Obviously this means absolutely nothing as it is preseason polling, but I've noticed it seems pretty 50/50 on who is going to win the division this season.

I guess I am looking for more in depth information because I haven't heard much about Michigan this season.
Here's what I got off first look

-Gardner is going to be their QB this season, he is athletic and mobile (which will be problematic for our defense I am sure)
-Game is in Ann Arbor, so it'll be tough to win there.
-Their schedule doesn't look much tougher than ours with the exception of Ohio State, so in theory the schedules look pretty even in that sense.

What I am curious about is how we stack up with returning starters on both sides of the ball and where Michigan stands on its returning starters. I mean we won last year...but that holds little water. In my honest opinion I think our Offense should be explosive this year and our defense should be slightly better but still on the below average side. Just completely clueless on whats going on in Ann Arbor, anyone been keeping a close eye? I guess I shouldn't be counting chickens because Northwestern could make a run this year too.

Blackshirt you are stating the obvious

We all know the offense is loaded. Everyone knows the offense is loaded.

For me, Devin Gardner is a huge improvement over Denard Robinson. Devin can actually throw downfield, Denard could not.

Until Nebraska wins a road game in Ann Arbor or Columbus, that monkey will still be on their back about road games.

Michigan will be a night road game. Luckily, played on the same turf Nebraska uses, still, it will be loud and with a freshmen front seven on defense,(exception Jason Ankrah) we had better hope Nebraska is fast enough to recover from their mistakes.

I think Michigan has some stud offensive lineman.

I suggest reading Deinhart on BTN
