thank god I am not the only one who thinks the ball also clearly crossed the line. I thought I was going 2 pages of bullshit agreeing that it didn't :L

I watched the replay of it Sun morning when I got up, I went to bed before the end of that game. I don't see where you could say he didn't get across the goal line with the ball. Sometimes the hail mary gets caught. Wisconsin should have batted it down, they didn't. Mich St won a few games last year in the same manner. The refs did the right thing this time.

The ball clearly crossed the line. It wasn't even close.

It would have been highway robbery if they didn't over turn it.

Just to give my 2 cents on this (obviously and unavoidably colored somewhat by being a Wisconsin fan, but whatever)...

From the replay it looked like at least the nose of the ball was over the line. I don't know that it was what I'd call "indisputable video evidence", though. If the call on the field had been touchdown, then the video is good enough to confirm.

But given the consequences, in that overturning the call on the field would end the game right there and letting it stand would give both teams a chance to win in overtime, it would have been better to let the play stand. It might not even have mattered with how Wisconsin's defense was playing on that final drive.

I had thought it clearly crossed the line, and I was pulling for Wisconsin.

Eh, no matter which way you slice it though, it is ridiculous that Wisconsin dropped all the way to #15 over a hail mary. That is something in the near future I hope they find a way to fix........because let's pretend for a second that they don't overturn the call on the field............now suddenly Wisconsin can win in overtime and be ranked #5???

It's just stupid. Our ranking systems make zero sense.

If that game went to OT, I don't think Sparty wins, I was hoping for a W's win also, for our divisions sake. We have a shot at beating MSU @ our house, but winning out to reach the CCG is a stretch

The only thing that needs to cross the line is the nose. So it was the right call to change it. The refs did not decide that game. The 4 quarters and 60 minutes of football decided that game ON THE FIELD. All we ask of the refs is to get the call right and replay is there to make sure of it. They got the call right.

That.........

Anybody who said the ball is without a doubt in either has better than 20/20 vision, a better tv than a 65" plasma or saw a different replay than I did.... It looked like the nose of the ball crossed- but you couldn't even hardly see the ball, and from the angle you couldn't really tell where the line was.

The first time I saw the replay, I saw the ball handler's hand with the ball in it in relation to where the goal line was. Even with my less than 20/20 vision I knew he had the TD, and the call had to be changed to a scored TD.
