Michael Young and his agents at the MVP Sports Group have reached out to the Orioles and Red Sox, according to Peter Gammons of the MLB Network (Twitter link). Gammons notes that Young is "interesting" to each team.
Young could present a logical fit for the Orioles as insurance for Manny Machado as Machado recovers from knee surgery. Baltimore also has uncertainty surrounding its second base and DH situations currently, though it's been years since Young played second base with any regularity.
Boston, too, has some uncertainty in the infield with the potential departures of Stephen Drew and Mike Napoli. Young could provide them insurance at each corner infield position. The Red Sox showed quite a bit of interest in Young in July as the trade deadline approached.
This past season was the first year of Young's Major League career in which he did not don a Texas Rangers uniform. Young approved a trade to the Phillies last offseason and later in the year approved a deal to the Dodgers. Between Philadelphia and Los Angeles, Young batted .279/.335/.395 with eight home runs. He appeared primarily at the infield corners, but L.A. did give him a bit of work up the middle, playing him at shortstop for seven innings and second base for 10 2/3 frames.

At this point in his career, think it's best he turns to a full-time DH with a few games at 2B/3B
