Aren't the Eagles like 640million over the cap next year?

I don't get this.

You won the SB, a sure contender this year ...why go anywhere near a baggage guy.
Eagles have virtually no drama queens on their squad. Why start now.

.

It gets better.

Once they trade Foles they are bringing in Kaepernick.

Dam, Eagles just got a little better, sure Bennett might not be what he was 3-4 years ago, but he’s still a guy that’s gonna get some sacks for them ... I wish him well...

You can't be this stupid. Please tell me that you're fucking with me.

Did you type this little gem; "All the Pats needed to add to their pass rush was a 5th round pick and a no name receiver..." or not?

I was definitely expecting Seattle to get rid of him this year along with Sherman who just got too beat up by injuries. Both him and Bennett are media/field/locker room distractions (locker room minor).

In addition, Seattle is bringing in a whole new coordinator group and I don't see Sherman/Bennett giving any respect to those guys or listening to them. Thomas is a bit more centered and Wagner hasn't really brought any drama - he just shuts up and plays.

I didn't really expect Seattle to get more than a 4th or 5th for Bennett. He's 32, has a bit of an attitude, was tied for the 2nd most penalties in the league last year (10 offsides, 2 neutral infractions), etc. He's still overall a monster player if he can keep up the steam given he had 8.5 sacks and is extremely solid against the run.

I'll give Philly a A-. Despite some issues it's a major upgrade if Bennett can perform well at minimum cost and Bennett will likely be trying his best given Eagles' chance to repeat and Cox is the best player on the line.

I'll give Seattle a B. They lose a good player but it helps them rebuild since it doesn't appear Seattle is close to the favorite in the NFC this year, they acquire an extra pick which is desperately needed given their ammo, and helps them retain Sheldon Richardson which is reason enough alone to trade a 32 year old talented discipline issue. Very mediocre grade... it's a rebuilding move and they certainly don't get the full value from Bennett's talent.

What did the Eagles just send away to add to their pass rush?

If you follow the Seahawks you know that the two guys who's absences are noticed the most are Thomas and Wagner. They're both going to demand highest paid player for their position money and they're going to get it.

Chiefs: "We have the dumbest trade in the NFL."

Seahawks: "Hold my beer."

Getting rid of his contract and getting something in return makes this a big win for Seattle.

He still has some game left but he gets a LOT of offsides penalties and disappears in the 2nd half of the season.

Never going to happen. You honestly going to think a player is going to play the last year of his contract out when an owner pulls up to his house with a truck full of money?

The more I've heard of this the more I think Seattle did the right thing. I'm still surprised they couldn't get more but the market was clearly down on him.

Dropping Bennett makes some cap sense and so does Sherman for that matter. Peters was cost controlled for at least 2 more years and had 1 tag realistically. He's what, 25? About a good 5-7 years left for a CB before having to move them to safety or they fall out of the league.

He's a soon to be 33 year tweener who has consistently lost production over the past 3 years. I'm surprised they got anything for him.

I have bigger concerns about them dropping Sherman. Unless his injury is worse than I thought, I really don't like that idea.

Achilles tears are no jokes for a CB of Sherman's athletic profile and age. Different position, but Derrick Johnson went from very good to JAG after his 2nd achilles tear. I'd much rather a player tear an ACL than an Achilles.
