Miami signs 49ers OC Mike McDaniel as HC

49ers OC Mike McDaniel gets hired by Miami to be their new HC.

Losing a coordinator-level assistant couch is never a good thing, but with Shanny calling the plays, it's not a big loss.

And best of all, b/c McDaniel is half-blac3k and half-white, he is considered a minority, meaning the Niners get a 3rd rd comp pick this year and 3rd rd comp pick next year.

I wish him well in Miami, but he's got to get that OL fixed and the QB situation figured out.

McDaniels netted us a 3rd rd comp pick in 2022 and 2023.

Losing Saleh and Mayhew last year got us 3rd rd comp picks in 2021, 2022, and 2023.

IIRC, the 2022 Saleh pick was traded as part of the Trey Lance deal, leaving us in 2022 with our original 3rd and the McDaniel 3rd. BUT, that means that in the 2023 draft, we'll have at least THREE 3rd rd picks: our own pick, Mayhew's pick, and McDaniel's pick.

Maybe this should be in another thread, but with these extra 3rd rounders, does anyone know what the hit rate of replacement level or even just above as it would seem like a good round to get many extra picks cause if they hit they will be cheap against the cap. It seems high enough to get good athletes not early not late in the Draft.
