Richt screwed miami pretty hard when you think about it. They had to pay Temple $4 mil just to hire their own DC.

On one hand, it really sucks for Temple to introduce a new coach and then lose him within weeks. On the other hand, Temple is now $4Mil richer with very little effort and can take another spin on the carousel.

I'm not sure I like it. Last Temple coach (yes, I know, Diaz wasn't there yet) didn't work out well.

Neither did hiring our last defensive coordinator (Randy Shannon).

Have to see how it works out.

Don Brown, Michigan DC, likely to replace Diaz at Temple. He was a finalist for the job, originally.

I hope things work out great for Miami and Manny Diaz

I must admit …. I never felt comfortable with Diaz as being a head coach material … perhaps he has improved since I last took a close look and I am wrong on this one ...

That was quick, I thought they would have gone for Cristobal really. I think they were dumb not too.
The PAC is a dumpster fire, much easier to have success at Oregon in that conference. A couple years from now I bet he tries to save Miami.

Good for Temple . Guy clearly washt committed to them anyway . Now they get to find a coach who will be and he will be on the house for the first few years . Big win for them

Hiring a coach with no real D1 head coaching experience is always tricky. Since he never actually coached at Temple I don’t think it’s an apt comparison.

But he could end up like Shannon. Too much of a players kind of coach and not enough to reign in those kids.

I'm not so sure I agree with you. By making his decision now it gives the school and new staff time to get ready for the next year.

Im referring to timing and respect for kids who signed early

Brown's stock took a hit because of some struggles the past couple weeks, but it would be a good move for stability for Temple. Since Brown is older it's much less likely that a P5 program will poach him.

Wish he was still with MTSU. I wasn't surprised when larger schools started calling his name.

Mario wasn’t taking that job at this time. No way
