37 3 attempts to 16 FT attempts. And the Heat simply didn't seem interested in finding a balance between the two

I was ok with the 3's in the first half because they were going in but in the 2nd half, they needed to attack more seeing that the 3's were no longer falling

Agreed.

And this will be my continued beef with Spo. He has preached to the team that he doesn't mind the high volume 3's as long as they are quality attempts. I am all for quality shots being taken - but you can't keep preaching that shit when they aren't falling and hurting the team.

I always get on Hassan when he has mental breakdowns due to a lack of production or touches in a game - but I can understand his frustration at times given the fact that it seems we are content on being perimeter-oriented and we sacrifice his talent and production.

Unlikely but lets see if the approach is adjusted at some point soon

I complain a lot about the 3's and I will continue to until we can consistently find the right balance - but two stats that have been alarmingly low for the Heat all season is the fast break points and points in the paint. Have had those numbers be in the single digits far too many times this season.

After the the amount of games in as many days, you can certainly make a case for this - but the Heat started off OK in this game despite that - so I dont think that should be an excuse. They simple didn't do enough of what was working for them early on in the game.

Still early in the season, but this is looking like a team that will be flirting with .500 the entire season unless they can find a way to get over the hump and get going - thats ok as long as it is good enough for the playoffs.

Has anyone tried to take a crack at why the Heat defense has been so subpar so far this season, to say the very least?

I often complain about our starting lineup and some guys at certain position really putting us in bad spots regardless of all the good reasons Spo tries to come up with as to why they are starting and doing so where they are.

So, is it just that its bad matchups? mental?physical? I know its going to be nearly impossible for Spo to change his approach on either side of the ball but still worth asking

Doesn't matter if he can or not, Spo is going to send him out there off the bench for 30+ minutes a game all season long.

He takes himself out of it with fouls and thinking he is a jump shooter - and making it a personal matchup with the opposing C instead of sticking to the team concept.

Yes... when the matchup is in their favor to get away with it - otherwise, like I have said and will say every time they start with the lineup - J-Rich as a starter is a liability too often even on defense

As our broadcasters said in the early minutes -Lots of mismatches situations for the Wizards - with the way our lineup is put together, it just invites those situations

Heat need to get their head out of their ass asap because turning the ball over like they do and playing subpar defense like they do just isn't going to fly against the Wizards - could get ugly in a hurry

-11 after one

With this bad start, the hope is the Heat will have a better second and third quarter than they usually do but thats unlikely

TJ is always trying to force that pass like that -- it needs to stop

Now just -6 but lets see how much longer we can actually keep this close the way we play on both ends for the most part
