Wonder if they have a deal in place with Lindor or are happy going to his final arb year.

I'm still puzzled why they didn't claim Hand. Money appears to be no object at all.

According to Alderson, it's because they hadn't officially taken over the team. If they were in charge then, Alderson says they would've put in a claim

Not a bad return for a Cleveland team with zero chance of retaining Lindor

Rosario also included

Lindor's getting over $20M in arb I'm guessing, add that to the minimum $27M they save on Carrasco and it's a no-brainer for them, as they're clearly committed to the rebuild.

Cannot say I've heard of any of them. But our FO usually does well in these deals so have to give them benefit of the doubt.

Hard to be a fan of this team. At least with Cavs and Browns you know if good they'll do whatever they think they can to stay there and even improve. Think our payroll now down to $35 mil. I get we have Covid, but they were dumping guys before they knew what Covid was.

Good luck to Cookie!!

I started wondering about Ramirez if they're truly having a fire-sale.

What a club friendly contract that guy has. He should fire his agent immediately.

to be fair when he signed it he was not close to the guy he is now. doubt many saw MVP caliber talent in him.

Good move for both teams.

We knew Indians werent keeping Lindor so good to finally get rid of him and not have it linger into season.

Mets got money out the ass to blow so very worth it.

don't expect Tribe to keep up with NY, LA, etc. but would be nice to have an ownership group with a will to win when in what could have been a contending window.

my opinion on this deal

Cleveland gets a decent haul for a team that will not resign Lindor and will not compete... Carrasco is kind of a giveaway as he is going to be 34,, and has serious health questions...

The Mets don't give up much to get an elite SS... and a good SP... Even if they don't resign Lindor, the trade wont KILL them... But they wont actually win the deal unless they can resign Lindor... They will try to talk to him before the season starts for an extension, but if he doesn't want to talk this can get pretty ugly... and pretty ugly fast... even if he is willing to talk, if there is no agreement, this can get very ugly...

Gimenez is a stud, not a superstar but a really good player. Rosario not so long ago was the top prospect in baseball. He's shown flashes of greatness but goes cold for long streaks, still young enough to turn it around.

The prospects I believe were 9 and 10 respectively for the Mets which probably puts them 15-20 for most farm systems.

Likely takes them out of Bauer sweepstakes. Now sign Springer and 2 bullpen arms. If NL still has DH this lineup will be a monster.

I don't think it was terrible for Cleveland... probably the most they could have gotten pre-season.... Will never understand why teams don't wait till the trade deadline for trades like this though...

It’s a reflection of the market, Cleveland simply didn’t have any suitors here, so getting the kid Giminez was enough for them to bite

just heard Passan, said Toronto was the only other team kicking the tires and even they didn’t get very far in talks

the SS free agent crop after this season is insane, this deal was only worth it to the one owner not whining about the money he lost last season

Rumor is Springer wants $175. Mets willing to do that?

Yes he will be a Met
